To want to ban any threads with 'Christmas' in the title until least the 1st Nov (apart from mine obviously!)

OK I've seen two Christmas threads today on MN and that's two too many! It's fecking August!!

Christmas is on 25th Dec, nobody should put lights up until 1st Dec or later and there should be nothing in the shops until November. As for Christmas music in shops I would allow this on Christmas Eve only.

Nobody should have a works Christmas 'do' in early November either (yes colleagues I am talking to YOU.

some of the C-word threads on here recently have been about wanting advice re: family dilemas/unwanted guests inviting themselves/will we cope hosting or going away with newborn twins etc etc etc. If people who need advice on how to deal with those situations posted in the C-word topic, no one would see them till much later in the year. People should be allowed to post where they want. The C-topic is just a helpful means of gathering all tips/advice/shared recipes etc together in one place for those who want to indulge in that. Can we only talk about pets on the pets boards? or about health on the health boards?

I know Christmas can be hard for some people, my granddad died on Christmas eve, and we had devastating news about pg3 the week before Christmas. But that does not means no one else should be able to talk about it. There is a hide thread facility so they don't have to keep seeing them too!

The reason why Christmas threads are starting is because there are only 4 paydays left.

1. Starting to get stuff in now and get organised is a good idea. 4 paydays left. That's including the one due in the next couple of days.
