I got a free cake tonight when we went out for dinner because ds kept singing happy birthday to me and cheering. Over and over again.

It isn't my birthday, he just likes the song, but they let us keep the free cake so I may insist he tries this in more places Grin

I am sorry guys but I totally disagree. Having a toddler has given me a captive audience to sing to. After years of friends berating me for singing the wrong words (btw thanks, I know, I just like making up my own) I can sing what I want at last. However I fear the writing is on the door as my 2 year old has already started with the 'no mummy' when I launch into song. So far, I think it's when I sing the wrong song for her requirements but its only a matter of time before the dreaded 'those are the wrong words' comes floating my way again. So while there is still time, anyone for my own favourite version of the wheels on the bus....."the mummies on the bus chat astrophysics", in true mumsnet style, it's never too early to start directing the children towards those desirable STEM careers! Joke honestly.

I have banned Let it Go in my classroom. Anyone caught singing it is threatened with having to pick up rubbish at lunchtime.

To the tune of John Brown's Body

I know a song that gets on everybody's nerves
I know a song that gets on everybody's nerves
I know a song that gets on everybody's nerves
And this is how it goes:

I know a song that gets on everybody's nerves . . .
