I have fairly long hair. I love it but find it so time consuming. It's just about the middle of my back length now. A chestnut brown color.

I haven't told anyone yet but I've got a salon appointment tomorrow and intend to have it chopped off.

But in the words of Bridget Jones, 'I'm a little bit fat' .. and have quite a round face double chin (it's a work in progress!) And am concerned I'm going to look really butch! Not at all feminine and lovely like all the pinterest pictures.

Please find me some lovely suggestions to mull over and take with me tomorrow.

I'm not going pixie short, but having had a bob before I know it won't be less time consuming because my hair is thick..so somewhere in between with some sort of length around the face. I'm not sure if that makes sense.

You must help me! I'm so fed up of it taking an hour to do and as such always having it tied back!

I'm probably being U ;)

Well I hope you're going to a salon where they will do cuts that suit the client, rather than one which will ask you what you want and then do it.

Check with them first. Have a look for some ideas in magazines, online etc. Print off a few ideas and take them in to the salon. Ask their opinions - will this suit me? Ask others in the salon as well, including other customers (if they're not busy). I'm inclined to think a chin-length bob might not suit a round face, but obviously I haven't seen you so can't say for sure. I used to know a large (larger than Bridget Jones) woman who had a really trendy very short assymetric cut and she looked fab. The good thing about a short haircut is that it soon grows out if you hate it!

I speak as someone who's had everything done to her hair. Natural dark brown, now short and greying (but dyed!). It's been blonde, streaked, multi-coloured, permed, semi-mohican, you name it.

Good luck!

Try a gradual bob maybe? I have a round face too and had a gradual bob for years, it was really flattering :)

But I agree, ask the stylist for their opinion!

I have the same sort of face but thinner fine hair. I googled short hair for round faces and got loads. I have one saved which I will get when I have the time and money to go to the hair dresser. In the meantime it's my sister with the kitchen scissors and a box of home colour.
Good luck. I'm sure you will look lovely.

Rather than going for a plain bob (which can be a bit mumsy) go for something that hits your shoulders. More stylish and more flattering in my opinion.

I think it's a bit of all or nothing scenario really- I'm finding it so tedious drying it!

I have a round face and a bob and recently a few people have told me that it slims out my face. I find that a blunter cut around my chin helps, if it is too feathered it makes my face look rounder. I certainly don't look butch :)
