Horrified to think this could have been a mumsnetter

Obviously I don't know and of course it does no good to speculate but given the high numbers of women killed by their dh every week, I can't help wondering whether the 18th August killing of a woman teacher in the news at the moment was the woman we gave advice to who complained her dh strangled her, (also possibly a teacher)whose posts also dried up after 18th August. I don't remember the exact title of the thread but it does seem to me that there have been several threads like this one.

I know it doesn't help anybody with such speculation, just wanted to know if anybody else worries about what happens to some Mners in RL after they have posted some harrowing stuff on here?

UpTheChimney the lady who has been killed has 2 children so not that mumsnetter.

What SGB said about the probability.

I think this is why MN is valuable, though. People often say that 'LTB' is overused and that people are too inclined to worry about the state of a relationship. But honestly, I don't believe for a second a happily married person leaves their partner on the advice of strangers on the net. But some posters are brilliant at seeing red flags, and they don't shut up just because it might seem politer to ignore their suspicions.

Evening folks. Just wanted to pop in to let you know we've changed the thread title on this conversation. Hope this is ok with you, OP. Since there seems to be no link between any Mumsnetter and this tragic news story, we didn't want to alarm others needlessly and the title was proving to be a bit upsetting for a few people. We try not to censor or edit wherever possible, but hope everyone understands why we felt it was important in this case.
Thanks!

Upthechimney - that was the one I was thinking of, as well.

Good that that poster is sage. Hope she remains so.

Arrgh "safe" -- although I'm sure she's wise as well.

Yes - I often wonder if the person in the news is/was 'one of ours' a mumsnetter. Whether it's something like this or a road traffic accident or a child that has been killed. It is difficult when people suddenly stop posting - most of the time we will never know :(

Tikimon - you do realise that lots of those women were our friends? People we had got to know over years? Some we knew off the board as well?
