To go to france with a baby and nowhere booked

Just that really. DD is 5 months old and pre-weaning. Normally we'd book a self-catered cottage but we're going on a Sunday (next Sunday) and returning the following Saturday. I'd like some flexibility to drive down the coast and see a few places. Is it crazy to think we'll find hotels easily with space for our baby? Will it just be stressful? We'll have the car but were not planning to camp.

Thanks, there's some good advice on here. We're going, have booked the Eurotunnel!

Go for it
after Ascencion day you'll be fine
if in doubt, go to the local bureau de tourisme and get them to find you an aparthotel
I never pre book for France - but I do speak Franch which helps

You will be fine. Have an app/general awareness of where Formule 1 hotels are. Not overly glam but very handy for this sort of trip.

Last year drove across france to portugal and back in 2 weeks, booked every hotel on-line in the morning as we did not know where we would be, no problems at all. Used Ibis budget several times, cheap and v clean

sounds like a lot of fun. I'd do it if I wasn't a wimp. You can always do those little pre-mixed bottles of formula that you can keep at room temp until opened if you are worried about not having a kettle?

Of course not.

France is very well served with hotels, both privately owned and chains. The former are often located in the centre vile, the latter more often at the centre commercial on the edge of town. Smartphones and tablets make booking as you go easier than ever.

Have a good trip!
