She's 15.8 for goodness sake. Dh thinks I was Grin

We're in England, she's legally able to get married in 4 months and I was only downstairs . . .

NotSuchASmugMarriedNow · 24/08/2014 09:47

oh for gods sake of course YANBU

If your DH is that bothered why isn't HE looking after her

Squeegle · 24/08/2014 09:47

If course it's fine

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 24/08/2014 09:48

Ha ha your dh is being so precious.

I'm guessing she is able to operate a phone and text you if she wonders where you are.

Squeegle · 24/08/2014 09:48

I thought you were going to say she was 2!

eurochick · 24/08/2014 09:48

If that is her age in months, then yes...

BreadForBrains · 24/08/2014 09:49

Yanbu. Of course. Confused

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 24/08/2014 09:49

I skim read it as 15 months and was going to flame youGrin

greeneggsandjam · 24/08/2014 09:49

No. If she is 15 I am assuming you would have had to sit looking at her till at least 12 before she decided to get up. You could quite possibly go out and do a bit of sight seeing too before she decides to get up!

1sneezecakesmum · 24/08/2014 09:49

Thought DD was a baby! In which case yes!

But nearly 16! No no no!

CoolCat2014 · 24/08/2014 09:50

She's 15 years? No YANBU

Hakluyt · 24/08/2014 09:51

Eh?
You cannot be serious!!!!!!!!

TSSDNCOP · 24/08/2014 09:53

She's 15, she could easily sleep forever. You'd be dead of starvation.

Was it a full English? It'd be a brave DH that tried to stop me getting to that.

ChasedByBees · 24/08/2014 09:55

Ha! Of course YANBU!

Sirzy · 24/08/2014 09:56

leave her a note/send a text to tell her where you are then enjoy breakfast!

QOD · 24/08/2014 09:57

Hahaha it was delicious with extra sausage which I smuggled into a plastic bag and she ate sitting in bed whilst frowning at me

I think it's crazy how protective some people are, I'd maybe not do in in some foreign hell hole

And he didn't stay with her as he wasn't with us

Oh there were also two mini croissants

Like everyone except your husband, I think you were extremely reasonable.

What was he worried about?

greeneggsandjam · 24/08/2014 10:33

He should be telling your daughter off for not getting up and keeping you company at breakfast and also for losing out on the breakfast and putting you through to stress of smuggling food out to her!!!

Picturesinthefirelight · 24/08/2014 10:55

She's 15!!!!!!

Last week we left our 12 year old & 10 year old whilst we went to the bar for a last drink.

When we went abroad dd had her own room key & was free to go by the pool, in the room or in the reception area during the day as she pleased.

PhaedraIsMyName · 24/08/2014 11:04

Good grief. Is he serious?

Thumbwitch · 24/08/2014 11:05

God, at nearly 16, absolutely not! if it had been a very small child then yes, I would have said YWBU but she's a teenager! Your DH is being daft.

Frontier · 24/08/2014 11:08

Have you/he never left her at home or let her go to the shop on her own?

Why is he upset specifically about her being left in a hotel room?

Ilovenewts · 24/08/2014 11:12

Well in a few months she can check into a hotel by herself if she wants to..

hercules1 · 24/08/2014 11:13

Surely you've left her alone previously? Does she not at least take her herself to and from school? Seems a strange thread to start tbh as it' s bizarre that you and dh would even have such a conversation. I thought she was going to be about 2.

theeternalstudent · 24/08/2014 11:15

I LOVE hotel breakfasts. Did they have lots of fresh fruit and those tiny almond croissants? Freshly squeezed orange juice and strong coffee. Lovely!
