AIBU neighbours aupair

AIBU to not get into school run arrangement with a neighbours aupair.
Has been hinted at but im not happy to do it. Its not if much benefit to me. The aupair (18) has no car ,2
school going kids and a baby. Her hands are too full to add my 4yr old
to the mix.
AIBU to not want the hassle.

Just say no. It's always such a hassle when it's unlikely that the favour is going to be reciprocated in a meaningful way. Parents have got some nerve actually. Can't they buy the au-pair a car or pay for her training?

Sounds a hassle - I would only do this if neighbour was a good friend. Not sure I would have the heart to drive past kids in rain and wind though. We had reverse actually - neighbour wanted our au pair to give regular lifts to school to her sons, no reciprocation offered...

Who in their right mind would have an 18 year old look after three young kids?

Umm, people all over the world!? 18 is an adult and more than capable of looking after children or having a number of children of her own if she had started early!
Why does our society treat children and young adults like they're incapable of anything useful? Lots of kids are left in charge of younger siblings even in their pre-teens.

And if you're driving what about car seats etc (I know that isn't quite the point of the OP thread but it would be a factor eventually).
