To be so excited about buying this dress

I've just bought this for a really posh work do next month. Last year I went in a really boring black jersey dress and ugly flat shoes and I stood out like a sore thumb. This year I am determined to dress up. I just need some nice heels to go with it now.

I'm overweight, and am hoping this will be flattering! I tried something similar on yesterday and it looked lovely (I wasn't able to do it up though as it was 2 sizes too small).

I can't wait for it to arrive!

Yes, I've found their stuff badly made too.

It's very, very misleading in the pictures - I bought one I thought would be a fifties shape, but it was well above the knee (I'm not tall) and really nasty material.

OP[ you can only make your mind up when you see it.They cant all be bad as they would go out of business.

I think I was disappointed so much as it was made in England and as I sew myself was expecting good things.

I have one of their dresses in a summery fabric (got half price) and I was amazed by the quality and the fit. Loads of compliments and it is surprisingly versatile.
So it might be the luck of the draw on quality.
I would downplay accessories with it - let the pattern and colour do the work. No necklace. But Great Shoes.

Oh - expect to need to change the belt. That's where the quality was not so good, but IMO self fabric belts are never brilliant news.

Oh, I have one of these. Their sizing is hit and miss and they can be badly fitted, just to warn you. The one I have looks pretty but is very badly made and the fabric looks cheap. I really do hope yours is OK.

You can dress them up, dress them down, and they smooth over my lumps and bumps.

I found my dress from there horribly short waisted and unflattering - unwearable I'm afraid. I cut it down into a skirt to get some use out of it. The fabric creases really easily too.

But some people are perfectly happy with their stuff so you never know.
