His course work deadline is today and he's going out after work for a drink - he almost never goes out any more because he's so busy with ft work and pt studies. He's not a problem drinker at all and ordinarily doesn't seem even tipsy when he gets home after an evening at the pub. I'm glad he's seeing his friends because he deserves it and he doesn't get to see enough of them.

However, he only got 1.5 hrs sleep last night because he had to stay up to finish his essay. Monday night he slept a normal amount but sunday night he stayed up the whole night working before doing a full day's work.

I'm convinced that more than half a pint tonight and he'll just keel over! Then he has a 2 hr commute home by train. He's said he won't drink 'loads'... but surely even a tiny amount when you're so exhausted is going to have a huge effect? Aibu?

Oh come of it! (In the nicest possible way!)
He's an adult and if he starts to feel rubbish while having a drink, surely he'll know to stop!
He will be absolutely fine.

WorraLiberty · 20/08/2014 14:52

I'm sure he's old enough to know what he's doing.

MrsTerryPratchett · 20/08/2014 14:53

He's a grown up. He'll probably just have a pint, feel knackered and come home.

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 20/08/2014 14:53

Susan he'll be fine, relax.

SaucyJack · 20/08/2014 14:53

I shouldn't panic. Few lines of coke and he'll be ready to rock.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 20/08/2014 14:54

Trust his good judgment and maybe his friends will see him onto his train if he starts to wilt. And hope a kind soul prods him awake by the time he reaches his station.

Think I'd be more concerned about him jumping me and having a drunken fumble when he comes home wrecked! Grin

HTH! Grin

MintyCatLeaf · 20/08/2014 15:33

YANBU to care, but as others have pointed out, he is a grown man.

Sometimes worrying a little does show that you care. Grin

Id be staggered at his superhuman powers of endurance if he tried anything this evening!
