I would say it's ok.

LadyLuck10 · 18/08/2014 20:41

I think it's fine.

oslomum · 18/08/2014 20:43

i've done similar

Needtoemigrate · 18/08/2014 20:43

Thank you !! Dh finishes work soon and it's pouring so I don't want to get her out of bed - hoped she d be asleep - silly me!

At 13 I was looking after a 3, 4 and 8 year old until the early hours of the morning. 20 minutes will be fine. Smile

You know your dd. Only you know how sensible she is and capable if something out of the ordinary happens. Most are fine with some responsibility at 12?

BackforGood · 18/08/2014 20:45

Yes, I would, with my 12 yr old, but it does depend a bit on the 12 yr old. Sounds as if yours is already comfortable with being left, and the responsibility has been built up though, so, I'd say yes.

CruCru · 18/08/2014 20:46

Sounds fair enough.

Needtoemigrate · 18/08/2014 20:48

Yes she s really good with her sisters and feels confident to do it. She pops thru to her if she hears her shouting before us.

Smartiepants79 · 18/08/2014 20:48

Sounds fine. You know if you can trust her. Do it if you're happy.

ladygracie · 18/08/2014 20:49

Absolutely fine I think. I definitely would have done when my dd was 12.

ElephantsNeverForgive · 18/08/2014 20:58

DD2 I would without a quarm. DD1 isn't keen on small DCs, but even she'd probably of managed 20 minutes.

Needtoemigrate · 18/08/2014 20:59

Thank you all - everything is scary the first time doing it I suppose. Just hope he finishes

On time !!

Flexibilityisquay · 18/08/2014 21:00

I think as long as she is happy with it, and you trust her, its no problem.

Seriouslyffs · 18/08/2014 21:06

No problem at all.

bonzo77 · 18/08/2014 21:09

Yeah fine. My mum used to leave my middle brother aged 13 with my youngest brother aged 6 months for far longer than that. I was 15 at the time but refused to babysit and would leave the house (my mum knew I was not at home helping).

Needtoemigrate · 18/08/2014 22:13

All was fine and she d fell asleep within minutes- typical
