To just lock the door and leave the little shit out all night if he can't follow the house rules?

He just can't follow the rules. I believe a healthy dose of harshness will teach him a lesson. I have two dcs and a dh who have been easy to train. This whurling durbish is a law to himself. Should I LTB??

He's gorgeous, but he knows it! He'll be a player, but you won't be able to stop loving him.

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/08/2014 22:05

And they'll put a leopard print collar on him in faux fur with his new name in rhinestones.

Salmotrutta · 17/08/2014 22:08

And when you go to get him back they'll have taught him to twirl on his hind legs.

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/08/2014 22:11

This explains everything.

Tweenangst · 17/08/2014 22:12

See, this thread is now just distressing with talk of other peoples love, collars and dance moves!

My bad boys refuse to drink the fresh clean water we provide in their own bowls.

Nor do mine. They only drink when they stand in the bath and I turn the tap on (at a very precise rate).

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 17/08/2014 22:15

Has he had his jabs and his 'nads lopped off?
Is he dosed with flea-drops?

Then he's ready to take on the world.
Let him have his fun until he decides to wake you up at 3am.
There might even be a dead bird for you Wink

eddiemairswife · 17/08/2014 22:20

Unfortunately, your present might not be quite dead!

ADishBestEatenCold · 17/08/2014 22:21

"I have never had a cat before and I bloody loves him!"

^^ That made me so happy! Thank you Tweenangst.

Tweenangst · 17/08/2014 22:22

He is fully jabbed, de fleed and de knackerd! So no worries about his lady friends having to start a POAS thread about my boy x

well if you do decide to LTB, can he come to mine Grin

PortofinoRevisited · 17/08/2014 22:29

Lordy. We went AWAY overnight and left mine chucked out. He didn't die or anything and is currently awaiting best mummy cuddles upstairs Wink

PinkSquash · 17/08/2014 22:38

I will love your cat if you locks him out. He is cute. I would probably have to divorce DH, but it would be worth it as he is lovely

Salmotrutta · 17/08/2014 22:42

Actually, close inspection of that photograph ofyour cat reveals a striking similarity to one of my cats.

Wolfiefan · 17/08/2014 22:46

You are staff.
Cat sets rules.
HTH.
Grin

SecretNutellaFix · 17/08/2014 22:47

Portofino- you had the gall to actually leave him for a night?

What's your trick for not having a clingy sulker on your return?

Tweenangst · 17/08/2014 23:13

I would love him to be a clingy sulker. He tolerates me and dcs at best. He loves DH with a passion.

OP posts:
Tanith · 18/08/2014 00:13

"He loves DH with a passion"

No, he doesn't. He simply knows how to butter up the male human of the house.

If you can get hold of a copy of "The Silent Miaow", you'll find it most enlightening Grin

SixImpossible · 18/08/2014 00:33

If you want him to pay more attention to you, ignore him.

Go on, try it. The less attention you pay a cat, the more he will try to get your attention.

He still won't follow your rules, though. But that's ok, because he is seriously gorgeous.

ddubsgirl77 · 18/08/2014 01:13

My cat will not drink any water I put out for him unless its in the dogs water bowl much to the dogs disgust! :D

Chiana · 18/08/2014 04:19

This is an awesome thread! And OP, your cat is gorgeous. But humans follow cat rules, not the other way round. Accept that now and save yourself some heartache.

Andrewofgg · 18/08/2014 05:16

Not only are you staff - if you misbehave he will find a way to get even. He is more cunning than you. Be warned.

Tweenangst · 18/08/2014 08:45

Right, so far I have learnt I am staff, and the boy makes up his own rules. Surely this is not how pets work!! ( he is currently sleeping on my dds bed being stroked so I may be slightly under the impression I can train him)

OP posts:
diddl · 18/08/2014 08:52

He's gorgeous!

Is that a balcony with a rug for him to sleep on?Grin

He'd be fine outside.

CheerfulYank · 18/08/2014 08:55

Awww, I want a cat! DH is allergic :(
