Issue: which kids party to attend?? Need your help oh wise ones.

I have not RSVP'ed to either yet. They are both on the same day, at the same time. Completely different friendship groups. I have presents and cards for both and can easily get these to the one I won't attend as they both live locally. DD, is 5, and I will have DS 3 as well (no childcare, DP is work with the only car we have).

Party One: child of an aquaintance, child doesn't attend my DD's school (same year) and is a picnic and activities in a park in the middle of nowhere. It will be massively hard but not impossible to get to.

Party Two: child of a school mummy friend, child in same year as DD, I can easily get to this one and it is an arranged activity then a party tea after.

Help!

I'd go to party two if it were myself.

BonjourMinou · 17/08/2014 11:56

No contest, I'd go to the easy one and explain to the difficult one that you are double booked but send your best wishes :-)

loudarts · 17/08/2014 11:56

Which party does your dd want to go to?

BonjourMinou · 17/08/2014 11:56

I just wouldn't tell them when I got the respective invites Wink

loudarts · 17/08/2014 11:57

Which party does your dd want to go to?

WorraLiberty · 17/08/2014 11:57

Yes, what loudarts said.

EatDessertFirst · 17/08/2014 11:58

DD would prefer Party 2 as its a girl in her school in tbe other Reception class.

Then there would be no contest for me

After all, it's your DD who has been invited to attend.

MrsReiver · 17/08/2014 12:00

Then party 2 it is, I assume the invite is for your DD and not yourself, so let her choose.

lettertoherms · 17/08/2014 12:00

Party 2 of course.

If you haven't RSVP'd to either, it makes no difference when you got the invitations.

Thank you guys. The hosts don't know about the other so there is no chance of them finding out. I thought I'd put it to the MN jury to make sure I wasn't comitting a kids party faux paus (?). Now, I won't feel guilty.

You lot are good you are.
