AIBU about Toddlers shoes and clothes?

AIBU to be annoyed that the only clothes I can seem to find at the moment for my 15m DS are all jeans and hoodies, or clothes covered in character crap shudder?? I'm probably being old fashioned, but I really can't stand jeans and hoodies on DC, he can wear them when he's older if he wants and is choosing his own clothes but right now I like him in chinos and cardigans/round necked jumpers or clothes that aren't covered in ridiculous hideous cartoon characters :-/

And SHOES! (now I know I am being really old fashioned here) but I really want some T-Bar buckle shoes for him, but all I can find are pink or purple glittery girls ones, they seem to be marketed towards just girls now whereas when I was younger boys and girls wore them, Prince George was in a red pair at the start of the summer and they sold out, but I just can't find any suitable ones! He has one foot that is a whole size and width bigger than the other (strange kid) so the smaller foot rubs up and down in the velcroed shoe all the time and the tongue comes out!

Sigh, go on, tell me I'm BU and old fashioned :-(

No, you're not BU - this is a facet of a pet hate of mine that girls can apparently dress on a wide range of styles but boys can only wear casual jeans and tops... Grrrr!

Hanna Andersson has soft clothes for toddler boys I think? I don't know about t-strap shoes though.

Oh, H&M are good for basics eg non-logo emblazoned tops and dungarees, Gap for more expensive stuff.

YANBU. I have a DD the same age, and nice girls clothes are easy to find. However I seriously struggle to buy for my nephew (18 months). It's either jeans, mini combat pants, hoodies, checked shirts or angry birds t shirts. I have scoured for a lovely pair of dungarees for him but everywhere only seems to do them in newborn and young baby sizes. It's like all boy toddler clothes have been made to be creepily macho. And I haven't seen buckle shoes for boys in years. It's all trainers that say "I'm a tear away". If dd had been a DS I think he'd be walking around naked by now

I think you'd be best finding an independent shoe shop for the shoes you describe.

H&M are your friends here. Their clothes are often fairly unisex, and most do to include character crap, M&S, JojoMaman and White Company are also good for lovely jumpers and trousers (all are great in sales). Have you looked at Happy Little Doles for shoes? They're somewhat expensive, but have some lovely styles.

Apart from maybe Jojo, they all also sell jeans and logo'ed hoodies, so you have to look through the ranges carefully. You soind like you might also like Ralf Lauren kids stuff, which often comes up At TKMaxx.

Try JojoMaman, Tu at sainsburys and Next. Also Boden for the odd thing here and there. Start rite shoes do some "classic" boys styles especially through their website.

You are perhaps being a bit old fashioned, especially with shoes. However, I do feel your pain. There really aren't the same choices for boys as for girls. Next does chinos, but they are almost always skinny. H&m do non-jean lightweight trousers which are actually lovely and ds wears a lot. Jumpers are definitely big at next and I think John Lewis does a nice range of more old fashioned clothes (for boys and girls actually).

Vertbaudet does a lot of what you're looking for. I have used them and they are a good company re: quality/delivery.

DS rarely wears jeans. Never wears character clothes. Does wear hoodies now at 4. I have never had issue getting clothes for him from normal high street shops, I have never understood what the issue is tbh.

Yes, H&M is definitely my go to place at the mo, but I think we have everything out of there at the moment haha, I've not heard of Hanna Andersson, will have to have a look, I do like Next clothes but think they are just a teeny bit pricey, and have never found anything in our local Gap since DS was born, and always forget about online! YES - mini combat trousers and tearaway trainers - make me do another shudder! Glad I haven't been too U with my moan, thank you guys feel a bit better about my Sunday already :-)

Mothercare sell T bar navy blue shoes, think they are part of the little bird range.

I will go away and look at all these places you have suggested lovely people, I obviously just haven't looked hard enough! TU was my go to for trousers for quite a while then they all suddenly became "Skinny" and my DS defo does not have skinny thighs on him ;-)

Do some great baby and children clothes. Sometimes a bit expensive - but wear very well and can easily passed on 2-3 times. Buy big and get 2 years out of. Used to be my favourite shop! Boden very good for boys trousers. Again, buy big and get 2 years out of.

You can dress your child how you like. Next online sales are good esp if you get VIP.
