AIBU to think that how old/young/good you look depends largely on genes and lifestyle?

Genes, how much sun exposure you have, and weight.

I am currently in the south of France staying with someone who is 2 years older than me but she thought she was 10 years older. She has lots of deep lines on her face, but has lived here all her life and goes to the beach every day from May to September. She spends plenty on creams and potions, though, I have seen her bathroom!

I am a few stone overweight and all the fat on my face fills out my lines!I I really have no wrinkles at all, except for a few crows feet, and I am 52. However, being overweight is very ageing in itself and I would far rather have the slim size 10 body of my French friend Envy.

Well, they say from a certain age a woman has to decide between her face and her arse Wink

And yes, of course I look young for my age, have a GSOH, am clever, witty and generally delightful Grin

Well, as Catherine Deneuve said, after a certain age, you need to choose between your face and your figure. She chose face, and her contract with L'Oreal says that she wont be shot below waist.

I think it's also a lot to do with bone structure too - high cheekbones will give a great foundation. I don't really have much in the way of cheekbones, so I will look increasingly saggy and drawn. Hurrah.

As well.. white teeth, good eyelashes, good eyebrows, contouring make up and an expensive (looking) hair cut/dye job!
