...was a bit unfair?
Ok so you get 3 numbers- you win £25, you get 4 numbers- you win £15!

Even worse was 5 numbers-£105

The jackpot was even under a million. Quite a lot under.

This is obviously a reflection of their price increases last October and I wonder how many people have stopped doing it?

The raffle makes me laugh because the first week the raffle was launched, my brother's work syndicate won £20,000.
However, you guessed correctly, he had decided to withdraw the week earlier due to the price increase!
I've never heard of anyone I know or know of to win the raffle.
I think a lot of it goes unclaimed.

Had a look at the draw history for the past few Wednesdays. The prize fund is usually around the 7,500,000 mark and it was last night. However there were huge numbers of prizewinners because of the numbers drawn and so a much smaller jackpot.

The Lottery only works if you regard it as charitable giving with a minuscule chance that you might win some dosh. I remember when it first started I decided that if I was going to buy a ticket it would be an incentive to not buy chocolate. That kind of slipped and then I gave up on it for years on end. Now I am a semi regular buyer of tickets but becoming disenchanted again.

Participation has gone down because people have a much better appreciation of the odds. This is a good thing.

DH's nan won £20,000 on the first draw after the price went up! It was bloody brilliant! We were all so excited and pleased for her. But now I can't help but think she has taken all my lottery luck as I've had nothing for ages.

I would be really pissed off if all my numbers came in and I only got £400,000. Well, not really pissed off but a bit miffed I guess...
