And i'm not even a Liverpool supporter!

Ok, so he has a penchant for biting fellow players, but he really lit up the Premier League last season and (IMO) was easily the best player (let alone striker) in it. I will miss watching his relentless hard work, natural talent and sheer brilliance at tearing up opposition defences (and I say that as a Norwich fan...how many goals did he score against us last season?! Confused)

He was pure entertainment both on and off the pitch, and I think the league will be a poorer place without him.

I'm here Grin

AbbieHoffmansAfro · 12/08/2014 15:42

He only bites players who won't retaliate though. Hands up who thinks he'd have bitten Mark Hughes, or Roy Keane, or Duncan Ferguson or El Hadji Diouf if they had still been playing? Anyone?

HalleLouja · 12/08/2014 15:44

He would have stayed clear of Cantona too!

avocadoaddict · 12/08/2014 15:48

Ha! I wondered whether you'd show up LuisSuarezTeeth! Grin

I'll say one thing for Suarez though, he's got lovely hair. I do like that blue-black, super thick hair.

LuisSuarezTeeth · 12/08/2014 17:02

Grin can't be talked about and not appear

Do you moonlight as the Spanish Inquisition? Grin

TheWoollybacksWife · 12/08/2014 17:35

There is no denying that he is a very talented footballer but as the mother of a football obsessed Liverpool supporter I'm glad to see the back of him. I'd be happy to see my son aspire to be as talented as him but worry that Suarez bad attitude and even worse physical behaviour would be seen as something to be glossed over and accepted due to his talent.

DH took DS to his first Liverpool match on Sunday (a friendly) and by all accounts the team were superb. they are biased though So maybe not too much of a change after Suarez...

avocadoaddict · 12/08/2014 19:41

I hope they are superb again this season, they were so exciting last year Smile

Another Liverpool supporter here. I'm glad he's gone. I wish we hadn't signed him after his first bite. I wished we hadn't supported him during his ban for racism or his second bite. There's more than one way to be a great club. Winning is one way, but doing the right thing is better.

TheWordFactory · 12/08/2014 20:08

TheWolly LFC were good on Sunday, but BM were playing, essentially, their reserves as they have a big match coming up.

We need another striker!

SteamTrainsRealAleandOpenFires · 12/08/2014 20:37

He should've had his work permit revoked, slapped with a fine of several million quid then deported all with in 48 hours and then "sold" to the lowest bidding club.

Scarletbanner · 12/08/2014 20:52

YANBU OP. Kind of!

I too will miss watching Suarez. In football terms alone, he was head and shoulders above the other players in the Premiership last year, and it's always a shame when that kind of talent leaves the English league.

But I won't miss the sideshow that came along with him, and his behaviour. He seems very, very troubled.

It makes me laugh though to think that Barca fans will object to signing someone who scores 30+ goals a season. In fact, they are delighted. And don't forget that Arsenal tried to sign him last year. Despite what they'd have you believe, their fans would have been delighted to have him and his 30 goals too.

TheWordFactory · 12/08/2014 21:03

Oh Barca will be more than happy to sign him!

Though how he'll rub along with Messi will be interesting...

In theory Surez should crack along better. His diving/endless calls to the ref etc are part and parcel of the South American/Spanish game. He certainly won't be villified for it.

And his wife should be happier, which is a huge deal to him.

In reality, I fear he will become ever more out of control.

Meglet · 12/08/2014 21:10

Yabu. I'm gutted he's off to Barcelona and Messi and Neymar will have to put up with the little scrote. He shouldn't be playing full stop.
