we are pg. dc5 is on the way and dh's family have been informed. Not one of them have said congratulations

we were ttc. they knew that. we can afford baby. we want the baby. is it too much to expect them to be happy for us?

We have 4 and got no congratulations for the last two, only accusations of being irresponsible and overcrowding the planet.
It's good for children to be part of a big family, learning to share and help and love. OP's happy wanted children sound much nicer than their sour relatives.

Oldest Dd had her own bedroom until about four years ago, she thought it was highly unfair and we were punishing her by making her sleep in a room on her own. Funny child!
