AIBU to wonder how to keep dressing up outfits clean?

DD got an Elsa and Anna dress for her birthday and wears them all the effing time so they get filthy. I try handwashing them as the fabric is flimsy I didn't think they would sustain the machine but it doesn't seem to stop them getting wrecked. I'm not going through DH's obsessive search for months beforehand to find the elusive bloody Elsa dress again to replace it, so how can I clean the damn things without wrecking them?

I explained that if food stains got on the dress that it might not wash out. I also explained that too much washing would probably ruin the dress. My DDs didn't want to ruin their dresses so slipped them off for lunch/dinner. And we keep snacks to a minimum anyway.
Worked for me...

I manage a nursery and we wash all the dressing up on a delicate cycle
Ours get lots and lots of use and get covered in all sorts of stuff and they cope well with being washed
