To just eat the fucking left overs and NOT leave a tiny spoonful left??

DH made fish sticks yesterday, put the bag back in the freezer. I thought I had enough to lunch or a snack.

Heat up the toaster oven. I have exactly 5, that's right 5 fish sticks.

He has form for this. When he takes left overs he leaves a tiny spoonful that can't possibly be a portion size so he'd not "being rude". He just won't take the last bit of anything. Except candies or biscuits. Those are fine apparently. Hmm

Anyway, now some plastic of his has melted on the toaster oven and I feel it could have been avoided if I cleared it off first he just ate the rest of the bag.

I know I'm not BU, I just needed someone to comiserate with and give me tips on how to get melted plastic off a surface.

dp left 8 frozen chips the other day

and when I say frozen chips I mean the little french fry ones.... Hmm

No! Fish fingers are meant to be eaten in fives. You can fit five on a piece of sliced white. That's why they're called 'fingers.' Three is not a portion.

Morrisons sell them in boxes of sixteen. It gives me twitchies.

Why did the small portion mean you melted the sushi roller, though?
I don't think you can blame him for that.

My dh normally leaves something on the plate. I am envious - I hoover up every last bite no matter how full I am, and wonder why my thighs are expanding Hmm

To be fair, why should your oh have eaten 5 more just to stop you complaining? That would be very wasteful. You could have saved them for when you had bought another bag if you needed more than five. I think yabu. However I do enjoy a light hearted thread, and have enjoyed learning about fish sticks and toaster ovens.

I like this thread. I have learned a new thing about American and I like the sound of toaster ovens. It would make more sense than the malfunctioning full size oven in my rented rabbithutch.

I forgot to clear off the top of the toaster oven and walked away. Nothing deeper than that. If he had eaten the fish sticks, I never would have turned on the oven in the first place. He set off a chain of events. :)

I can accept that I'm being unreasonable about the portion size. But, it takes more than just 5 fish sticks to fill me up and I didn't want to scrounge for sides.

(Obviously I'm not seriously blaming him for my air headed mistake, we're getting a new one later)

But if he had eaten the last 5 fishsticks, you would have had no snack. Surely a too-small snack is better than no snack at all?

PunkHedgehog · 08/08/2014 11:44

And now I want a toaster oven. We have no particular need for a toaster oven, but I'm a sucker for new gadgets.

Our microwave also does toaster oven stuff.
