So i have had a mooncup in my amazon basket for months and finally took the plunge and bought B size as know i'm very small Blush.
Read the instructions and have been reading up on MN, so cut most of the stem off (cut just under the 2nd stem)
Waited til last couple of days of bleeding as per instructions, struggled to fold it and get it in but did after a couple of attempts, tried to only put it in as little as poss and found it very comfortable.
Went back 3 hrs later to take it out / practice and OMG!
a. struggled to get a grip with thumb and forefinger. When i did, still couldnt twist it.
b. tried to use forefinger to circle the cup to break vacuum, couldnt reach high enough, tried with middle finger, so little space that i still couldnt
c. kept trying, including bearing down, got a good hold but still couldnt twist
d got cramp in my fingers and even my shoulders from all the contortion!

so please tell me, it does get better.
Also, please give me techniques / tips to try

I really wanted to go with it but it was near on impossible to get out (did manage after 15 mins) but have made myself very sore and am now questioning if i want to go through it all again Sad

I just put a finger in and push on one side to break the suction and then pull it out with a finger and thumb.

I don't do squatting or putting one leg in the air as it's not very relaxing and you need to relax! I find pushing my bottom to the back of the toilet seat is enough (you have to be able to get your knees apart though so push trousers etc right down to ankles - I can't believe I'm writing this!). Then I take a deep breath and the mooncup sort of comes down to where I can grab it and squeeze the bottom so the seal breaks. Tip it sideways and it pops out more or less by itself. I find it useful to grip the little ridges around the outside with my fingernails to make sure I don't accidentally drop it. I've had it about 5 years now and I've only had to fish it out of the toilet once Grin.

I watched before I started using mine and thought it was quite helpful.

I've been curious about these. But on my current bc, I don't really menstruate (not complaining!).

If all the blood pools in the cup, isn't taking it out with all that squeezing and twisting a bit messy? It sounds like you're removing a sink plug for everything to drain...

turtles once you get the hang of it you remove it sitting on the toilet, so any spillage doesn't matter. Besides, I'd say I have a fairly average flow (would use regular flow tampons, changing every 4 hours or so) and in the mooncup there is just 1/2 cm or so of blood in the bottom. After the first 2 days sometimes there isn't even that, just a layer of blood over the mooncup. I could probably leave it in my entire period and still not fill it!

I've given up exactly the same problem. Was advised also to bear down which flared up my haemorrhoids. Bleeding out of both orifices was not pleasant
