I only wash my dirty dishes once a day but then I am out of the house all day & don't use much dishes.

I did all of my laundry today for the first time this week.

I NEVER iron.

So I say go for it Grin

Mumof3xox · 03/08/2014 17:55

I don't iron

I am getting better at the other stuff

TonyThePony · 03/08/2014 18:00

Life's too short to iron.

MrsDavidBowie · 03/08/2014 18:04

That's why you need a dishwasher.

I am ruthlessly efficient when it comes to washing organisation....do 3 loads a day.

MostWicked · 03/08/2014 18:07

Laundry gets dealt with once a week.
Washing up at the end of the day.
Ironing? No information on that.

Works fine for us, but the washing is all in the washing basket before it is washed, and on the airer after, so it is never a mess.

TheLovelyBoots · 03/08/2014 18:10

That would drive me crazy, and would lead to mayhem during term-time.

hiccupgirl · 03/08/2014 18:14

I put the washing on whenever there is a full load - sometimes that's daily, sometimes every 2-3 days. It gets put away when the pile starts annoying me or we run out if clean clothes. I never iron.

We have a dishwasher but before I'd only wash up once a day normally. Otherwise it's a waste of water.

R4roger · 03/08/2014 18:15

oh i am normally better but I think I have wound down for the school holidays a bit too much!
and no one helps!
sigh

and my dishwasher is broken.

Get a dishwasher, that solves the washing up problem. And dont worry about using it for everything- if it doesnt go int dishwahwer- it dont get washed around here.

The rest can wait. My sitting room is currently holding three weeks worth of washing, I might use one of my last days of annual leave tomorrow to sort it out. On the other hand, I might not.

teenagetantrums · 03/08/2014 18:27

I never iron, washing gets done when it appears in front of washing machine so teenagers can keep it all on their floor if they like and have no clean clothes . I wash up once a day or they do. It does not bother me at all, I sometimes do a big clean but mainly my house is a bit of tip, not filthy but never sparkly clean, lifes to short.

R4roger · 03/08/2014 18:45

oh I feel better now

OP posts:
R4roger · 03/08/2014 18:46

i do wash clothes, and put on line, and bring in, but so far it is just on the sofa. but now it is getting cooler I might have to hang in house again. and thus wont be able to dump on the sofa.
and i will go to work on tuesday and hope to bloody buggery someone else does the washing up Angry

How can you all not iron - do you never wear shirts, or dresses, or cotton? I am not a keen ironer and certainly don't do children's clothes or sheets but I have six or seven things I need to do a week for me. How can you get away with it without looking like total scruff bags?

TonyThePony · 03/08/2014 18:53

I never suggested I don't look like a total scruff bag Wink

FunkyBoldRibena · 03/08/2014 18:54

and no one helps!

Help? Why not do?

Do or do not. Teach them to do not to help.

MaryWestmacott · 03/08/2014 18:58

Bigkids- DH irons his own shirts, I aim to buy clothes that don't need ironing as long as hung up straight, I'll sometimes iron ds's t shirts, but normally I'd they've been hung up properly to dry then folded to go away straight from the line, they don't need ironing. And even those that could do with an iron, it's the summer holidays, it seems pointless to iron things he's going to play in the garden in... (Or is mine the only child who's filthy from about 9:45am?)

I refuse to iron the baby's clothes.

teenagetantrums · 03/08/2014 19:03

I don't iron as I hang up clothes when wet they look ok, and creases drop out, never wear linen and mainly tee shits and jeans, have a uniform for work that's non iron, the teenagers can iron their own stuff if they want to we do own an iron, but they never do and look ok. last time I ironed something for me was a shirt for a funeral 2 years ago, that had been in drawer for ages so was very creased.

Elllimam · 03/08/2014 19:16

I do one load of washing a day, two lots of dishes, never iron.

MaryWestmacott · 03/08/2014 19:37

Oh and most days the dishwasher runs twice, and the washing machine once.

Op, can you prioritise getting that dishwasher fixed?!? It would make life so much nicer....
