To not go out

Topsyturvey09 · 02/08/2014 11:35

We have come to stay with a friend in Wales, me hunny and DS.
I am in agony as just come of the depo shot as it was not agreeing with me and having a really bad period passing clots etc.
I have said to DH to go out with friend and DS for a few hours while I take some strong painkillers that knock me out for a bit and I will see how I am then
DH has just had a sulk saying we have come away togther so we go out togther. Otherwise he will stay in with DS who is screaming (he is one) his head off as he is board (really small flat) and wants to get out
So my options are- to go out and by in agony or stay here take painkillers but listen to DS screaming all afternoon.
Do I tell DH to grow up and go out with DS and friend (mutual friend)

Let dh go out with friend and sin. You ok and not mis carrying. Gave you had this before. Wondering if you should see gp. Hugs x

EmmanuelWoganberry · 02/08/2014 12:08

Send him out, don’t force yourself to suffer just to avoid a grown man having a sulk. I hope you feel better soon

AgentZigzag · 02/08/2014 12:10

He would rather you were in pain and suffering?? Why would he want that?

Of course YANBU.

Hope you start to feel better soon Thanks

Is this the tip of the iceberg OP?

Topsyturvey09 · 02/08/2014 20:04

No def not having a moss carrage and yep this is the tip of the iceberg.
Dragged myself out in pain all day, came in and said to DH I am going to lie down. He pouts and sulks.
Said I am having tea now and going up early after again pouts and sulks. End up doing neither.
I have MS and epilespy and basically he thinks he deserves a medal for putting up with me. He always complains about not doing stuff.
This is the man who could not move off the sofa for three weeks with a bad shoulder.

I've been on holiday when DP has been crippled with killer migraines.

I've left him to take the tablets and rest, and taken the DCs out to do something.

There's no way he'd have been capable of coming out with us, and no way would I sulk. He can't help the migraines (although a change of medication has helped reduce number and severity now).

I think OP's DH is an idiot.

awsomer · 02/08/2014 21:45

YANBU, tell him to sort it out.

Are you ok? Painful periods aren't something you have to put up with. Definitely not trying to scare monger but if it's a common occurrence for you its probably worth seeing the gp (if you haven't already) to rule out endometriosis etc.

Feel better.

EmmanuelWoganberry · 02/08/2014 22:48

He sounds delightful Sad

Look after yourself first and foremost OP, it’s not your responsibility to keep your DH in a good mood. If he wants to sulk that’s his problem. I hope you manage to get a good nights sleep and feel better for the rest of your holiday

Softlysoftlycatchymonkey · 02/08/2014 22:53

Yeah he sound like a dick.

I have crippling endo and when that starts it's fucking hideous.

Dp will always take the reigns, even if it's running me a bath at 4am.

You need to look at the bigger situation x

AgentZigzag · 02/08/2014 22:58

You really shouldn't have struggled round Topsy, it didn't work if you were doing it to avoid his sulking and pouting (Grin at him pouting, fucking hell, how do you stand it??) because he did it anyway! Even though you obeyed him by eating later and staying up Hmm

How would you get on (with the MS/epilepsy) without him in your life do you think? You must have thought about giving him the boot before, surely?? The sooner the better by the sounds of it, he sounds a total twat.

awsomer · 02/08/2014 22:58

Ah... The 4am bath, I've been there Softly! We should start a mn endo page.

Softlysoftlycatchymonkey · 02/08/2014 23:08

awsomer! One of my worst endo points was crawlng n to my bosses office while he was having a meeting ( only people left n building) crouching down and doing my best not to pass out! Pain was beyond shocking. I now have great tablets from GP that work a treat if I take them in time. Endo thread would be great.

Sorry to hijack op x

greeneggsandjam · 02/08/2014 23:49

He is selfish and thoughtless.

Nanny0gg · 03/08/2014 19:29

Let him pout and sulk.

What's the worse that could happen? He's already making the trip thoroughly miserable.

What does your friend think? Can't they intervene?
