Think my heart stopped beating for about 10 seconds when I realised.

How do I mop this one up? Just sent my 19yo BIL a lengthy heartfelt text about my deepest and saddest emotions by mistake. It was meant for my husband. It was so personal. Eurgh.

Aibu to wish I was dead right now?

OP, I once sent a naked photo of myself to my father in law. He commented on a necklace I was wearing and I replied by correcting his grammar.

There will always be something worse Smile

MorphineDreams · 01/08/2014 02:01

Thankyou everyone. It was a nightmare at the time but it's worked out for the best :)

ICanSeeTheSun · 01/08/2014 02:21

Some of these are funny.

Op it will be fine.

Namechangedforthisohyesidid · 01/08/2014 03:44

I texted my husband as he was unable to speak by phone to tell him I was pregnant again and got a little text back from my male boss saying "that's great news but I suspect your message wasn't meant for me"

I am still here evidently but I did almost die of embarrassment

AdoraBell · 01/08/2014 03:47

I managed to send an email whining about my DH to another school mum instead of my friend. Luckily this woman is very discreet.

YANBU to feel embarrassed OP but in a few days it will be forgotten. I hope you feel better soon.

"OP, I once sent a naked photo of myself to my father in law. He commented on a necklace I was wearing and I replied by correcting his grammar. "

Grin That is stylish!

Since being on the receiving end of an accidental email from a colleague bitching about me, I obsessively double and triple check stuff before I send. But still, only a matter of time before I slip up I think...

Idocrazythings · 01/08/2014 05:18

I once sent an email to my DH and accidentally cc'd my real estate company somehow with the words "greedy fucking bastards" about the tenants in our house who were making things very difficult for us. Oops.

Shockers · 01/08/2014 05:37

My friend (whose husband has the male version of my name) once text me a heartfelt and detailed thank you for the 'filthy sex' they'd had that morning Grin.

Bifflepants · 01/08/2014 05:51

Yep, I sent a rant about my boss inviting herself to dinner to my boss. My heart stopped beating for seconds too, and a wave of adrenalin shot through my body. God the embarrassment.

BitOutOfPractice · 01/08/2014 05:54

My DP's ex wife has a name with the first two letters the same as mine and sent his wife a filthy and soppy text meant for me. She's never mentioned it Grin

Incidentally my DP's name has the first 3 letters the same as my ex. To save any similar problems I've saved my X's number under "lying twat"

rumbelina · 01/08/2014 06:32

Blood I remember your necklace story, it really cheered me up one day Grin

dementedma · 01/08/2014 06:43

Wrote long email about forthcoming formal works dinner and my angst about having to dress up and feeling fat and ugly and my Norks potentially dropping out......sent it to my boss by mistake!
cringes all over again 3 years on

Realised, so then sent one saying fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck that wasn't meant for you to which replied in a most ungentlmanly way " can't type for laughing" and then never ever mentioned it again.

GreenTeaHoneysuckle · 01/08/2014 07:57

omg Mrsbolden, you are right, you win, it doesn't get any worse. You poor thing.

ithoughtofitfirst · 01/08/2014 08:09

These stories are brilliant.

I just woke up, remembered and died of shame all over again. Haha !

myknickersknackersknockers · 01/08/2014 10:14

I sent my friend a text about some lillies I'd been given and how they'd given me a migraine and made my sick a few times. Cursed them and told her I'd finally binned the bastards when I realised it was them that was causing it. Sent it to the person who gave me them by mistake!!!!

Alisvolatpropiis · 01/08/2014 10:24

I once sent one to my mum which was intended for my dp. I was essentially trying to persuade him that he didn't really want to go away that weekend, he wanted to see me (fairly early on the relationship, now I'm quite happy to have the weekend to myself). So the text was listing what a nightmare she was being (untrue) etc etc. oh the adrenaline rush when I realised what I'd done!

At the time we worked in the same place so I was off up the stairs like a rocket, grabbing her phone out of her bag before she knew what was going on. Never did see that message. Grin

More recently I was telling my friend who insanely broody I was and sent it to dp. I mean, he is aware that I am keen as is he. He just wasn't quite so aware of exactly how keen I am, until now Blush

Rabbitcar · 01/08/2014 11:55

After reading these, I am never sending a text or email ever again! It's too dangerous!

BookABooSue · 01/08/2014 12:12

I typed a long text to my ex telling him why I didn't want him to come to a party I was holding and how I didn't want to see him again. Then I sent it to my very formal boss. I was Blush

AdoraBell · 01/08/2014 14:53

Shockers that's brilliant, as is TheBlood correcting FIL's grammar, pure classGrin
