To think if your giving a 4&2 year old a spay tan false nails and hoop earrings

You need a visit from ss and a parenting course

And also what the hell with al these business willing to carry out these treatments on children so young

OP posts:
ItWasMyOwnSilence · 29/07/2014 11:40

I only watched the advert and got eye ache from rolling them so much.

stagsden · 29/07/2014 11:44

Didnt see the tv show but focusing so much on image as such young ages is creating big problems for later childhood/teenage years and through adulthood. I wonder how many will end up with eating disorders, depression, with nc relationships with mothers or living life as a massive slut, due to their early experiences of being blinged up.

Gileswithachainsaw · 29/07/2014 13:48

It must hinder their developement?

I mean unsupportive shoes are bad for feet.
Hair pulled too tightly can give head aches.
The chemicals on young skin must have an effect.
Dresses like that make it a lot harder to be able to use the bathroom, that must be embarrassing after a while of having to have mummy there instead of doing them selves.
If heels are worn again that affects how kids walk and if they are narrow....

Aeroflotgirl · 29/07/2014 14:16

Yanbu I was shocked. That little girl in the hooters outfit ( Hooters as I know it is a chain of lap dancing clubs). The mum should be ashamed and reported to ss for exploiting her baby. A toddler no less in skimpy hot pants doing erotic dancing, disgusting! It is sad that these mothers have very little ambition for their children. That money could be put for their education or house or something worthwhile not dresses that they will grow out of in a few months.

Aeroflotgirl · 29/07/2014 14:17

And the spray tanning that toddler and encouraging her to look at her tan lines wtf. Sorry these women seem very thick, and superficial.

Bringmewineandcake · 29/07/2014 14:27

I thought Princess and Precious' mum seemed nice, the girls were happy. I don't want to see a 4 year old pouting in that way though, and I would not do spray tans and big hoop earrings on a child.
Pageant mum just seemed sooo unhappy though. Her girls seemed on edge, the youngest called her a bitch at one point and the discipline was non existent. I hope her family were watching and can help her out.

KEGirlOnFire · 29/07/2014 14:39

I've just put it on to see it for myself - OMG!!! Hideous!!!

I like pretty dresses and I've bought a few of them for DD over the years (she's just turned 5). Most have never been worn because they're just completely impractical. I've learnt my lesson now and DD will only wear what she can comfortably run around and play in!!

My BF was always dressed in pink frilly dresses as a toddler/child and now she refuses to wear anything pink or any dresses.

I can't wait to see some of the toddlers on this programme turn into Tomboys and tell their Mums to stick their dresses!!

It just makes me angry. Angry

IdkickJilliansAss · 29/07/2014 14:39

Hooters is not a lap dancing club it is a chain of American restaurants where the waitresses wear tight t shirts, they even have a kids menu Shock i'm not saying the out and dance were appropriate but lets get our facts right

ButterflyInFlight · 29/07/2014 14:44

I personally found those eyebrows to be one of the most shocking moments of that TV show. Wink
I felt awful when the little girl was running around the soft play area with giant earrings in - what if they had caught and ripped her ears?

Blinging up baby
IdkickJilliansAss · 29/07/2014 14:46

It looked like it might have already happened, one of her ears was extremely red looking around the piercing

SqueakySqueak · 29/07/2014 14:46

I know everyone wants beauty pageants to be bad for children, but studies have shown they increase confidence and give kids experience with getting up in front of people which is an invaluable life skill. That said, parents shouldn't be forcing this crap on kids if they don't want it. I hope they're taking their kids out in play clothes to let them climb, explore and play on the playground when the cameras aren't rolling.

I will say, the Hooters outfit is really ridiculous though. The reason they're so popular here in America is because of the Hooters girls. It's whole marketing point is men's two favorite things: hot girls and BBQ "manly" food. Also, hooters is slang for boobs and those O's are put on the chest exactly where they should be. A little girl should not be dressed in that anymore than she should be dressed in an outfit that says "sexy" or "slut".

Curlyweasel · 29/07/2014 14:49

What PlumpPartridge said. The mother who put her youngest in the Hooters outfit was vile though.

Monkeychopsmum · 29/07/2014 14:50

"She would probably be a Tom boy if I let her, which I won't"

Time to turn over I think. I'm getting the rage.

Aeroflotgirl · 29/07/2014 14:58

That's my point squeaky, totally inappropriate for a child. What is a pagent doing having a Hooters part to it, absolutely disgusting. It's aimed for adults, for waitresses to bad titilating to men, not for toddlers. That mum should be thoroughly ashamed, I hope she is getting ribbed for this v she needs to be told straight. And her girls seemed very unhappy. Forcing them to do something they do not want. She is not doing them any favours in the long run!

Topaz25 · 29/07/2014 14:59

Those mums are ruining their children's childhoods. This is a precious time for those children when they should be enjoying climbing trees and playing in the dirt without worrying about catching their earrings or smudging their makeup or ripping their ridiculous dresses, they have the rest of their lives to worry about appearances.

IdkickJilliansAss · 29/07/2014 15:07

Still not a lap dancing club

SqueakySqueak · 29/07/2014 15:09

Still not a lap dancing club

No, but a small child shouldn't have "Hooters" written across her non-existent hooters.

Aeroflotgirl · 29/07/2014 15:09

Establishment of an adult nature then!

IdkickJilliansAss · 29/07/2014 15:09

Nothing is as bad as 'Pretty Woman' pageant outfit

Blinging up baby
Aeroflotgirl · 29/07/2014 15:10

Exactly squeaky, it us not appropriate for children

IdkickJilliansAss · 29/07/2014 15:11

I always said it was not appropriate but lap dancing club it is not.

Aeroflotgirl · 29/07/2014 15:11

Oh good god idkickass I remember that. Mum dressing her toddler like a hooker it's disgusting, my pearls are strangling me!

IdkickJilliansAss · 29/07/2014 15:15

It does make you wonder what goes through some peoples mind when they are dreaming up these costumes

Roussette · 29/07/2014 15:25

I think somehow - unfortunately - the Mum with the Hooters child... well, any ribbing would go straight over her head and she would just think someone was jealous.

It was interesting to watch her self justification on Good Morning - she likened it to the Victorians dressing their children in bonnets (as if!), which is exactly what the woman who ran the bling business said. So she was on the defensive but nothing will stop her. I absolutely hated the hoop earrings - in Latin America all little girls ears are pierced but none have the size of the hoops this baby had. They seemed like adult sized ones and very sore. Truly dreadful...

Aeroflotgirl · 29/07/2014 15:26

It is a form of abuse well dressing your child like a hooker should be!
