Posted this elsewhere but will try here aswell! Can anyone out there recommend a decent bloody tummy control swimming costume?!?! I've tried soooo many and failing to find a costume that doesn't make me look like a potato. Have tried the new Speedo contouring one, Adidas ones, various stores own brand tummy control ones and just not having any luck. Partly my own fault for being a lazy moo and not exercising enough but had to have a c-section almost 5 months ago now and my lower stomach is ridiculous, and along with ginormous boobs just wanting something to really hold me in so I can get my wee boy to baby swim! If anyone can recommend anything! x

Bit of an old lady shop, but Bon Marche have some lovely swimdresses, which are kind of a-line, not just cossies with a frill round the bum! I have just bought one for my hols, and my DH says it looks ok (he would say if it didn't!)

Fair enough pig. I think I am just old and stroppy! DC6 is 3 and now I think "You have 6 kids over 20 years and then you can judge me!" :o

Catsize · 28/07/2014 22:53

You go Bogey! Grin

awsomer · 28/07/2014 22:59

I hope you find a cossie and have a good time pig! I have a load of scars across my tummy from a few surgeries so was really unwilling to go to the beach with my friends when I was invited last week. Cue lots of shopping, crying, deciding I wasnt going, but in the end I threw on my old faithful bikini and went despite it all. I felt self concious for all of this five minutes, then I got stuck in and ended up having a great time.

Your tummy is your battle scar and it led to something amazing. I know its easier said than done but don't let it worry you too much.

I've got one go these www.bettylicious.co.uk/VINTAGE-SWIMSUITS/Vintage-Style-Swimsuit-Polka-Dots-Red-White & I love it although it is massively expensive. I can't remember where I bought it, I think it was slightly cheaper than this website. I'm a size 16 in my 50s & feel pretty good in it.

Catsize · 28/07/2014 23:51

To those who really worry about these things, can I just ask why? Do you think people will think less of you? If so, is this because you think less of people if they have a bit of a tummy? Genuinely interested.

Bogeyface · 29/07/2014 00:16

Thanks Cat, I think stroppy "fuck you" comes with age :o

For me it was because what I saw in the mirror didnt match up with what I wanted to see.

It wasnt size (at 10/12 the plus sized models looked way better than me), it was over all look. They didnt have cellulite, saggy arses or bad hair. Took me years to realise that a) yes they did but they had stylists and airbrushing to hide it and b) there are more of us than there are of them. We are normal, its ok to be normal. Took me 20 years to work that out.

Primrose123 · 29/07/2014 00:26

I bought this and am very pleased with it.

ICanSeeTheSun · 29/07/2014 00:28

It's taken 5 years to get to the fuck you I will wobble thought, Pig has had 5 months.

TreadSoftlyOnMyDreams · 29/07/2014 00:36

Freya were great

Bogeyface · 29/07/2014 00:53

Ican took me 20, I admire you!

Catsize · 29/07/2014 08:23

I kind of work on the basis that if someone thinks less of me because I am not a size 10, let them. They are not my type of person. Perhaps getting bad varicose veins at 18 meant I had to have this mindset from a younger age.

Igneococcus · 29/07/2014 08:43

I bought this one a few month ago and love it. Not exactly tummy control but it's not flimsy either. And best of all, it's still in perfect shape despite that I go swimming at least once a week. Usually my swim suits get chlorine damaged a lot earlier and go saggy.

Pigallina · 29/07/2014 11:39

Cat' for me anyway, it's not so much about worrying what other people think or thinking I'll be judged for having a baby tummy, I've always been of the "fuck you" mindset Smile so I don't really worry about other people. But, at the moment, I just don't like the way my stomach feels, it's just different isn't it? The section will have been my third stomach op and it's really taken its toll this time and I just feel like I want to be 'held in' all the time if that makes sense? And finding a swimming cossie that does that is proving hard! I can see me just thinking 'sod it' and going in a bikini and t shirt over the top, sounds so much comfier!

I have this one from primark and it really is flattering, they had quite a lot of control ones, good quality too.

LadyCelia · 29/07/2014 14:42

I just bought this one from Simply Be, and it is brilliant for my post C section tummy and massive boobs www.simplybe.co.uk/shop/magisculpt-the-curve-enhancer-swimsuit-longer-length/hk990/product/details/show.action?pdBoUid=1402#colour:Black,size:

LittleprincessinGOLDrocks · 29/07/2014 14:56

I got mine last year at Tesco. I had to go to a big one with a good clothing range, but it is great. It still holds everything where it should be now, even after washing frequently. I am a 32FF and it holds my boobs in perfectly.
Might be worth a look, though they no longer stock the one I bought they do have a couple of tummy control styles.

Littlemisstax · 29/07/2014 22:38

I've got an M&S one

evelynj · 29/07/2014 22:49

I have by boobs & big everything else too sadly but lands end cossies are excellent-check eBay - I was lucky enough to get one for about £10. They are great. Good luck
