To not be watching the commonwealth games?

I hate sport. Never watch anything including Wimbledon or the world cup. I didn't watch the London Olympics apart from a 5 minute roundup.

Watched some of the opening ceremonies but got bored.

Why do i feel as though I should be supporting the Games? I feel so guilty but I'm just not interested. Am I alone or being totally U and everybody else is glued?

Just watched some swimming and some women swam a couple of lengths.

Are there any indigenous Edinburgh-donians left? lol. I'm not a sporty person but do love to watch it on telly, makes a change from those crappy soaps that dominate the tv schedules. Have really enjoyed being in Glasogw Green too, and watching the events on the big screen.

Yes! Did you see the programme on BBC2 last night about Moray Place?

If you're a Glaswegian next week's one is about Duke Street.

My dad was obsessed by sport he watched everything I used to sit there bored shitless and think, when I grow up I'm not watching any sport at all and I don't. And why am I paying a TV licence just for channels full of sport?

not watching here either; I enjoy being active but 'spectator sport' is not that. The CG also seems to be all the running about, throwing things and 'team' games which are the reason to be grateful not to be at school any more.

the Olympics had some interesting events but the CG doesn't. Lawn bowls? Right up there with curling in my book in the 'I would rather cut off my own head than watch'.

'Nice to have a buzzy cosmopolitan vibe in Glasgow though

You mean like Edinburgh has every August during the festivals (sorry, it was too much of an open goal to resist)'

Yes,almost makes up for the fact that some poor unfortunate souls have to admit to living in Edinburgh.Grin

Ty Phaedra for the heads up about the Duke St programme. I will definitely be watching that.

I won't be watching any of it. I'm too busy atm. If I had nothing else going on and was bored I might.

Do you know what the program was called? Will have a look on iPlayer for it.

I think it's called The Secret History of Our Streets.

Yes The Secret History of Our Streets. The Edinburgh one was lovely but will not disabuse anyone of preconceptions about what Edinburgh people are like.

I loved the programme but they were a very particular Edinburgh 'type'. But then I live in a tenement in a not posh part of the city. I like the Festival as long as I remember to allow extra time to get anywhere in town Wink
