Im so angry that....

  1. He's rang me at work to tell me something that he knew would make me really angry and upset and couldnt wait for 2 hours when I would be home.
  1. I tell him this and he says "huh my fault again and slams the phone down on me

Let's hope he can find the memory stick with half of the pics on particulary DS birth and baby pics

Says he's upset but not that much that bet he goes to golf tonight as planned

I know what you mean. Phonecalls at work should be for quick timetabling, reminders, and other 30 second reasons.

Bad news that does not require you to leave work can and should wait. He is obviously a blurter and you are going to have to sit there and fume for a while longerSad

I struggle sometimes, DH works away. Sometimes I have to cope with stuff without telling him for a while, as he would be impotently pacing and gnashing his teeth for a week.

For example, we have just bought a house (yay). He went of to work and half an hour later the kitchen floor (solid slate) started to leak. Water bubbled up between the slates.

By the time I told him I had checked with the insurers, seen 2 plumbers and had a schedule of works.

Hopefully that's us fully pre-disastered now!

But no YANBU. Your DH needs to grow a better information filter Smile

Unless they have replaced the hard drive completely (which it doesn't sound like) deleted data is not normally 'deleted', it is just that the computer is reset to read empty parts of its disk and makes the space available where the files where sor saving.
There are some 'crack' programmes available that can normally recover photos although sometimes a few will be corrupted.
I had this exact same thing happen, and a crack programme recovered about 90 % of the data.
Surf the net, thee are several softwares out there, including recuva and serious bit.com and as someone says, don't use it again until you've done this.

It is normally difficult to 'wipe' a hard drive without replacing it.

Very best of luck.
