Thats not right is it? I mean, the other day the first day was 3rd aug but we didn't have the money to book it. Then we looked earlier today, nothing till the end of august and only evening bookings.

Then he is farting around on his phone, the date came up - booked and paid for, confirmation email arrived.

But too good to be true surely?

I have been so upset because we left it too late to book for DD's birthday (didn't realise and then didnt have the money til today) but now we have booked it - i can't believe it.

could it be a scam do you think?

Please tell us how she reacts when you tell her!

Meglet · 21/07/2014 17:49

Envy. I've heard so many people raving about HP studios.

We've got years of HP reading before we can visit. It's a permanent attraction isn't it?

Chipandspuds · 21/07/2014 17:49

Even if you're not a big Harry Potter fan I think you'll enjoy it as there's so many different things to look at. I had no idea how much thought and care went into the films until I visited the studios :) Take some extra cash for 'butter beer' and the gift shop at the end!

WeirdCatLady · 21/07/2014 17:50

Be aware though, the shop is excruciatingly expensive.

But fab Grin

Thumbwitch · 21/07/2014 17:51

Oh good for him getting a cancellation!
I took my 2 last year while we were over in the UK, it was brilliant - expensive but brilliant! Make sure you put aside enough money to cover the experience photos/DVDs and to buy at least something from the shop - I spent faaar more than I expected but on the principle that we were unlikely to go again (although we still might).
I didn't try the butterbeer either as it would have been too sweet for my tastes but apparently it's very nice, if you like very sweet things (you need money for that too of course).

Have a lovely time - even if you're not "into" HP, it's still amazing to see it all!

londonrach · 21/07/2014 17:51

Enjoy.... (Wish I was going)

LEMmingaround · 21/07/2014 17:52

Have been warned about the shop :)

I found the website a bit funny too - tried to book for three people, would only let me add two to my basket but when I went to my basket I could then up the number to three.

Still got all three of us booked Grin but I do think their website is a bit dodgy.

Suefla62 · 21/07/2014 20:03

Their website is hard to navigate. My Grandson and I went two weeks ago, it was awesome. The shop is really expensive, we came home and ordered wands from ebay that were 1/4 of the cost in the shop. They arrived yesterday and were just as good.

Please allow yourselves plenty of time, there's so much to see, and make sure you get a free passport for the kids.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 21/07/2014 20:08

Me, My DD, Dsis and my 2 closest friends are going on sunday because my, both friends and DD have a birthdays within the space of 20 days.

I'm so ruddy excited, and we went last year for my 30 birthday.

Ilovemydogandmydoglovesme · 21/07/2014 20:35

Make a note of what you like in the shop and as Sue said go home and order it online.

Lj8893 · 21/07/2014 20:42

How exciting for you and your dd!! What a wonderful surprise! I remember when i was younger and desperately wanted to see the spice girls in concert and my mum told me she tried but they had sold out, i was gutted but got over it.....untill i was presented with the tickets on Xmas day!!

please let us know how your dd reacts!!

PolkaSpottyDotty · 21/07/2014 20:43

I've never read HP but took my DDs and enjoyed it.

My tip - don't buy more than one cup of butterbeer. There's a barrel to tip away the waste for a good reason!

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 21/07/2014 20:45

BTW, Butterbeer is utterly vile.

Leeds2 · 21/07/2014 21:35

Hope you have a fab time!

We went last year, with DD and an exchange student. I don't like HP, but had an absolutely great day.

JustAShopGirl · 22/07/2014 07:58

It is totally film based, so would watch the films rather than read the books.

You will see soooooo much, so many of the little bits and pieces are on display - I'm envious , and we've been twice.....

JustAShopGirl · 22/07/2014 07:59

Oh, and everywhere you go remember to look UP too - there is so much stuff it is not all at eye level....

LEMmingaround · 23/07/2014 20:29

Dd did a little dance and had tears in her eyes when she opened the card with the tickets in! Thank you God for giving us this :)

ICanSeeTheSun · 23/07/2014 21:20

Have a lovely day tomorrow and do come back and write a review.

Thumbwitch · 24/07/2014 00:26

Hope she (and you!) have a lovely time. I'm very Envy!

Coumarin · 24/07/2014 00:32

Could two adults go without children? Or would we look odd?

Congratulations OP! Hope you all have an amazing time. Smile

Coumarin, plenty of adults go without children! Whole busloads of them! Honestly. There were far more adults than children when I went.
