I appreciate IAWL but its a bit daft to get precious about art you like.

'You think that's bad. I have to keep manually readjusting the oscilation of my fan,

Sympathies. Sad Times are indeed hard.

I am mostly joking about Casablanca,Lady.. Each to their own,but I genuinely don't think that the acting is bad. Quite the opposite.

To me, it's saying, you matter and what you do matters.

Every nine year old should see it. All of Capra in fact.

Katniss is right. All his films have an accessibility and show the meaning in 'average' lives.

I'm just switching my oscillating air cooler on with its remote control, Fide.

Thanks mimi Envy

Tried to watch IAWL once, got bored, turned it off. Dont see why some people think its so brilliant.

to imagine how the world would have been if you hadn't been in it, how we affect people in ways we can never imagine, wish I could do it for my own life. To me, it's saying, you matter and what you do matters

The Butterfly Effect-Oh I get that and that statement is a philosophy that I as an atheist ( see other thread) can embrace with enthusiasm. I still don't like IAWL.

I expect hoots of derision to follow this post but the Ashton Kutcher film "The Butterfly Effect" is an interesting take on this theme.

It's an amazing film

Every time the druggist boxes his ears I cry and cry

Fantastic film IMO - have watched it dozens of times and always feel uplifted by it.

I have realised that the films I have on DVD to watch over and over again are nearly all B & W and donkeys years old

Hobsons Choice, Brief Encounter, IAWL, This Happy Breed, Twelve Angry Men, Guess Who's Coming to Dinner, Whistle Down The Wind....

Am I just an old fart? Am only 56.....Grin

I'm a 40-yr old man. I watch it every Christmas and would have to say it's in my top 3 favourite films. And, damn it, every single time that ending makes me well up and shed a tear or two.
