Should I shut the kitten in the kitchen?

Heya, me again. Just a kinda quick question/follow up from my previous thread. (And thank you all so much for your great advice and support on that Thanks )

My kitten has been running around quite a bit this evening, think he's hit a bit of a hyper. Living in a top floor four in a block with my downstairs neighbours having previously complained about hearing him running. Should I shut him in the kitchen tonight? Kinda torn between the two since several of you said to stop tiptoeing about, but at the same time I don't want to cause them a disturbance/add more fuel to the fire.

Thanks again :) And here's my little bundle of fur attached, cute huh! (paragraphs alright this time?)

Aw. He's gorgeous!!!!!

We got a new kitten about a month ago. From day one he has slept on our bed with us. If you don't want this, after all he is going to grow into a big fella (much as we would love it, they don't stay kittens forever), are you happy with him sleeping with one of your DCs?

He is too tiny and shouldn't be separated from his family at this age. He's just been separated from his mum and siblings after all. I found routine was key to stop the playing and scrabbling. Bob would be played and kept awake for the few hours before I went to bed, then every night I scoop him up and take him up to bed. He understands what me being in bed means now and he stays asleep until my alarm goes off then it's attack central. No toes or fingers are safe!

morloth, I've had cats all my life.

They are definitely sharper, I agree with you on that, but if you think there has never been a cat attacked by a dog, never mind two dogs, take a look at the Celia Hammond website, which frequently has cats that have been attacked and horribly injured by dogs.

I'm not saying every dog is a threat to every cat, but the OP has already said the dogs next door show signs of being unsocialised. I would not risk letting my cat anywhere near dogs like that.

But then I also wouldn't have a cat if I couldn't let it outdoors.
