Its the comments that get me "well if she gave him a smack others wouldnt have to" Angry

Errrr smacking is wrong full stop!

SportsMixtureSweets · 12/07/2014 16:48

Had words with my mil over this last week. She said he deserved a slap and well done to the cashier.

I said if anyone did that to an adult they would be cautioned or charged with assault so why ok for a child.

In 2014 you would think everyone knew this was not acceptable behaviour.

Yes what the heck was she thinking.

ThingyTheBusCleaner · 12/07/2014 16:49

Even if I smacked my DS (which thankfully I haven't had to yet ) I'd still go beserk if anyone else did it.

The mother said that she didn't see the smack happen.
Why was her child not where she could see him?

queenofthemountain · 12/07/2014 16:53

I guess she was thinking 'what a spoiled little brat'.
But of course employees smacking customers children cannot be condoned so she did deserve to lose her job, I notice that the police wouldn't take it seriously though.wonder why?Confused

ThatBloodyWoman · 12/07/2014 16:54

It's a Daily Fail link.....

I know what my response would be, and it would be more swiftly delivered than sacking.....

ThingyTheBusCleaner · 12/07/2014 16:54

Maybe the child was standing behind her? Maybe she was packing the bags, paying, loading the belt thingy?

DS fell over last week and split his lip. I was 3 feet away but didn't see it happen....

She had to be sacked. I'm sure there are two sides to the story but you cannot go around whacking other people's kids (no matter how tempting sometimes)

TheFairyCaravan · 12/07/2014 16:59

I don't understand this at all, I'm afraid.

The mother didn't see the slap or know how hard it was, so how does she know it happened? Surely if it was hard enough to have left a mark she would have said so. So, are we to believe that the woman owned up to it?

I do agree that if it did happen the woman should lose her job and had she have slapped my child I would have gone to the police too!

Andrewofgg · 12/07/2014 17:00

I wouldn't want her head.

More like burnt alive in the car park. Of course not the P and C spaces naughty Grin

ThingyTheBusCleaner · 12/07/2014 17:02

CCTV, or the woman owned up. I imagine there'd have been shitloads of witnesses

LEMmingaround · 12/07/2014 17:03

The irony of this situation, if it happened to me, would be that id end up on an assault charge!

TheFairyCaravan · 12/07/2014 17:08

I don't understand what went through her head to make her do it! I mean we all have bad days and get to the end of our tethers, but we don't slap other people's kids for being grizzly at the checkout!

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 12/07/2014 17:28

What does it matter how hard it was? A hit is a hit.

NewtRipley · 12/07/2014 17:33

Obviously if it happened

I don't have a great deal of respect for sadface mum splashing herself and the boy across the DM, though.

I also wonder why the police weren't interested

NewtRipley · 12/07/2014 17:34

Sorry, obviously YANBU if it happened

MoominKoalaAndMiniMoom · 12/07/2014 17:35

I'd have gone ballistic at the woman. Glad she's been sacked.

AnyoneForTennis · 12/07/2014 17:36

Doesn't actually say morrisons sacked her tho....

DumDumDeeDay · 12/07/2014 17:44

[Shock] poor wee boy. What would posses someone to life their hand to someone else's child.

I'm afraid if that had been one of my dds the police would have been called for me! I've never raised my hand to anyone in my life but believe me touch one of my dds and I'd be gunning for you.

I'm shocked she wasn't charged.

SiennaBlake · 12/07/2014 17:48

Except for the headline and whole paragraph where it says she was, anyone.

I'm glad she was sacked too. You don't raise a hand to customers of any age. A child doesn't suddenly become an okay target just because they are young.

drivenbyyou · 12/07/2014 17:49

Being sacked would have been the least of her problems if she'd done this to one of mine...

lljkk · 12/07/2014 18:06

I wouldn't necessarily want her sacked for that.

JenniferJo · 12/07/2014 18:08

I wouldn't have gone to the press, I'd be too embarrassed at having a brat for a son and awful hair.

Branleuse · 12/07/2014 18:09

you cant go round slapping children, whether she wants to or not. Parents dont all not smack their kids because theyre not tempted when theyre being shits. Its pretty much illegal, so of course the woman should get in trouble

AnyoneForTennis · 12/07/2014 18:11

sienna the being 'sacked' is the DM's take on it..... Morrisons spokesperson said 'she is no longer an employee' with them.

Sorry, but I don't take a DM headline as being reliable, you might, but I'm not that gullible. No charges as well, something doesn't quite add up
