School reports

Yes it's that time of year again the school reports are out and some parents find it necessary to make cringy gloats on FB about their wonderful and amazing DCs quoting lines from the report. Why would you do this? It is even worse when everyone knows that the child has been a total PITA or a bully.

Yes it's that time of year again the school reports are out and a million posters are starting threads about the same facebook problem.

I don't know why this bothers so many people tbh. Surely you like your FB friends? Wouldn't you be pleased they are so proud?

Shakey1500 · 11/07/2014 23:39

Because it's their FB and they can post what they like? Because they're proud? Not felt the need myself but would just scroll past any that look remotely like boasting etc. Or hide them. Or leave FB if I felt that strongly about it.

That was a bit unnecessary, Coffee. Just hide the thread if you don't like its content.

Smile, nod and let it wash over you.

Sherborne · 12/07/2014 07:08

Surely boasting is what Facebook is for? Grin

Summerblaze · 12/07/2014 08:21

I have family that live in a different part of the country but imo the only people who care about my DC's report is the GP's and maybe my Dsis and i just give them a ring.

I would never announce something like that on facebook as it makes everyone do this ??.

Nanny0gg · 12/07/2014 11:04

It's just today's way of opening the report in the playground and reading bits out to your DC in a loud voice, so that the other parents can hear.

shebird · 12/07/2014 14:00

I have no issues with celebrating a child's achievements and wanting to share this with nearest and dearest. I just hate boast posts particularly when the child has made the lives of others in the class a misery for the whole school year. Also when the post states 'well done xyz, mummy & daddy are so proud of your excellent report' I just wonder if perhaps you should say this to your child in person as they are not yet on FB.
