We have a beautiful baby daughter and are really happy, but I don't always admit to people how we met! It still seems stereotypically not a cool thing to do. Have a feeling I'm being a bit silly! Any other dating website success stories from 'normal' people?

My DP and I met because he was my EX's best mate. He's 16 years older than me, 6 inches shorter and 3 years later we're still getting the 'that's a bit of an odd set up' reaction

I think it's great to meet your future dp online, me and dp are so completly different, I worked in a creative work hard/play hard industry, dp was a truck driver, we lived in different countries and had very different interests, our paths would have never ever crossed in real life. We spent a really long time getting to know each other as friends online without any pressure of a sexual relationship, I am so thankful that I met him.

I am not cool and don't especially aspire to be cool we are probably not very normal, but we are not terribly old either!

We see the way we met as a modern love story. We were both taurans, ds's favorite teddy is a cow called "mamma moo" I think it's very fitting :)

Yep met my DH on a dating site. Not ashamed at all. We never would have met otherwise as his hometown is about 15 miles from mine, he's 5 years older than me and back then we had different interests.

I never would have worked up the courage to speak to him if our paths had crossed at any point, I definitely would have fancied him though! He says he would have chatted me up though. Judging by how persistent he was when we first met I can quite believe it!

I met my dp on pof, now have a house together, a gorgeous ds, ttc number 2 and getting married in 2016 on the date we had our first date. I've no problem saying where we met although in the beginning I was a little bit embarrassed about it.

I'm from NZ, he's British so people always ask how we met and I tell them it was an online book club. Sometimes they get a little but they'll cope.
