To propose the theory that all deliveries can be guaranteed to coincide with school run

Thereby negating the need to wait in all day, wondering.... Because they will all arrive in that 2:30 to 3:45 time slot anywayAngry

I'm sure some mathematician on here could work out the probability of find some law about it

Oh yes. In fact I think that all delivery workers covertly sit outside your house & then knock on the door at the exact moment you disappear out of view Grin.

And are then, obviously, unable to redeliver until same time Monday.

Unfortunately whilst that theory is 100% correct on the occasions you leave the house for the school run, it reverts to being 100% incorrect on the occasions you arrange for someone else to do the school run, at those times it will come at the last possible point of the given time slot. Eg. 6pm while you are having dinner

Most couriers do pick ups in the mornings and deliveries in the afternoons ( so one of them told me ) so a parcel is more likely to be delivered in the afternoon and close to school pick up time [grr] always happens to me! quite often I pass the delivery van on the way to school.

Haha, needed to be said and we all relate.
I have some crazy idea that the nicer I write the post-it I leave on the door, the more likely the postie is to feel sorry for me and wait for me to return or phone me. Ha, totally deluded to think it will make the slightest difference.

Orangeanddemons · 11/07/2014 12:57

I am waiting for 3 deliveries today. They can all tell me an approx time. Between the hours I stated above, despite me telling them this is the only time I couldn't do

It's not just deliveries. My washing machine is rubbish and I have to call out an engineer at least 3 times a year. I always ask for them to come after 9 but inevitably they arrive while I'm out. Once one arrived just as I was leaving to go to school and I had to let him in the house on his own because he refused to wait or come back later. After this I always make sure that dh is here and, guess what, they don't turn up til 4!
