to think kids should not be out playing at 6am

The past few mornings my neighbours kids have been out playing in the street very early. I work shifts so I'm first to admit my body clock is all over the place but I heard them screaming and shrieking on Monday looked at the clock at it was 550 am. Tues it was 7 am. Wed and Thurs it was 6am

Seriously what kind of parent let's their kids out to play at 6am

or am I just being an unreasonable moany faced coo. If I'm not any suggestions for what to do??

I hardly even think 7am is a reasonable time for playing out. Who honestly needs to be out playing/mowing/practising drums in the garden at that hour?

I get up for work at 6:30am. Even though I'm awake it doesn't mean I want to get ready/have breakfast etc to the sound of screechy children.

Nice and serene. Nice and serene.

ssd · 11/07/2014 22:42

I have neighbours who have taken to sitting out till midnight or after laughing and shrieking, its doing my head in, I'm desperate for my two to go out screaming and yelling at 6am, but they sleep much later, maybe I should go out myself

deakymom · 11/07/2014 22:59

perhaps the parents had enough of them screeching in the house? i tried throwing the kids in the garden the other morning they got louder!

mollypup · 11/07/2014 23:05

Well if the parents had, they shouldn't be subjecting other poor folk to it.

Flipflops7 · 11/07/2014 23:05

7 am is too early. 8 am on weekdays and 9 am weekends.

gordyslovesheep · 11/07/2014 23:09

7am is way too early

9am Mon-Sat and 10am on Sunday

MrTumblesBavarianFanbase · 11/07/2014 23:30

Why is 7am too early on a week daygordy ? 9am Mon- Fri seems unnecessary - everybody who works office hours or has a school child must be up by 8am, and probably by 7am, surely? More older people get up very early due to not being able to sleep (for internal reasons not due to external disturbance) than sleep in... Who is 9am on a work day considerate of precisely? Certainly not any kind of majority.

You couldn't eat an egg after knowing the chicken? Confused

greeneggsandjam · 11/07/2014 23:43

I agree with the call to 101 and also I think they should be reported to SS. Can cameras be installed?

mollypup · 11/07/2014 23:43

mrtumble I think the point is, is there any need for it? Chucking kids out in the garden cos they're being too noisy in the house is simply inflicting misery on everyone else!

Someone was mowing at 7:45am today. Did they really have to do it at that time or did they think 'fuck it, i'm up. sod everyone else'. I was awake and up and about getting ready for work however I would still rather listen to the birds at that time than someone going mad with a mower.

MrTumblesBavarianFanbase · 11/07/2014 23:49

green that is insane. SS and the police are there to stop (as far as we lnow) well lookwd after children playing outside early in the morning?

They shouldn't be screaming, and before 7am is too early even on a week day.

However there isn't "any need" for lots of thongs - foreign holidays, icecream, gin... but things don't have to be essential to sustain life to be OK.

Screaming at 5.50am - very annoying. Calling the police about it - no sense of any kind of prortion, at all.

MrTumblesBavarianFanbase · 11/07/2014 23:51
  • there isn't any need for lots of thIngs... there isn't any need for lots of thongs either, but also no need to call the police...

Chucks a reality check onto thread.

Vintagejazz · 11/07/2014 23:59

YANBU. I would say 8.30 weekdays and 9.00 weekends is probably fair and considerate. But some people are self centred or downright thick and ignorant and just don't consider their neighbours at all.

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 12/07/2014 00:04

Well, the kids around here are pretty considerate.

My neighbour, however, has three dogs living in a large shed/kennel affair in his garden. He is out at 5am every single day of the week to feed them.

When I say feed them, I mean screech at them "Billy sit down. Billy sit the fuck down. Sam sit down. Sam sit the fuck down. Jack sit down. Jack sit the fuck down." Every. Day. Right underneath our bloody bedroom window.

Give me a few squealing children any day!

MrTumblesBavarianFanbase · 12/07/2014 00:09

I actually do sort of need one of ny kids to have a run outside from about 7.15am to 7.45am. Luckily

  1. I live in a place where times kuds can play in the neighborhood playpark (in the middle of a row of houses) are specified on a local authority sign as 7am to 8pm
  2. Pretty much every house around us shows signs people are up ny then
  3. Every child in the village over 7 walks to the nus stop at eother 6.30am or 7am, depending on which school they go to
  4. People seem happy to see kids outdoors
  5. he runs laps at that time, alone, which is quiet anyway

My son came up woth running for half an hour in the mornings himself, as a way to be calmer at Kindergaryen - atm he has a broken leg and the pent up energy makes him a louder and less pleasant child at Kinderten (and at home).

Sometimes I miss the UK and speaking English - then I read a thread like this. The OP was NBU because the kids were screaming before 6am, bit then multiple other posters compete to be the most disapproving and restrictive...

Redglitter · 12/07/2014 01:39

I work for the police and there's NO way I'd call 101 on this. They might be bloody annoying but its definitely not a police matter

bragmatic · 12/07/2014 03:07

7.30 at the earliest.

greeneggsandjam · 12/07/2014 13:05

Erm, I can only assume that anyone who suggested calling the police have a sense of humour and WERE JOKING!!!! Oh my.......

MrTumblesBavarianFanbase · 12/07/2014 13:18

Sorry green! Blush there is at least one person saying phone 101 upthread though!

greeneggsandjam · 12/07/2014 13:26

I think that's in response to numerous other threads where people joke about reporting people for the most ridiculous of reasons! I think due to the fact that lots of people here actually do suggest reporting people for things without all the fact/doing it for the sake of it. I would have thought that my suggestion of also installing cameras would have given it away?!?!?!

greeneggsandjam · 12/07/2014 13:29

BTW op I suggest a bucket of cold water or go out and shriek in a high pitched voice yourself for a while when they next do it.

mumeeee · 12/07/2014 17:30

YANBU 6am is much to early to be out playing in the garden. I would say 7 at the earliest on weekdays and then not screeching.
