To have had baby DDs hair cut short

Dd is 9 months. Her fringe has been bothering her but the rest isn't all that long. I have had her hair cut into a pixie hairstyle which I think looks super cute. It's had some funny reactions though, I think people think it's weird to cut a baby girl's hair off. AIBU?

People are weird. YANBU.

I really want to get a pixie cut myself now (had one a few years ago but it's grown out).

You do what you think is best for your baby. I bet she looks lovely! I have never cut my babies hair and I have been judged by random women in the street for it! Apparently if you don't shave their head in the first year of their life then their hair will never ever grow long. Moral of the story is, whatever you do, someone, somewhere is judging you lol

That links looks just like my DD3 (she actually pointed at it and thought it was her) she is 3 and starting school in September. I have no plans to let it grow longer yet.

Her sister (DD2) played hairdressers last year and I had to have DD3's head shaved. Most people say how great it looks but she is always being mistaken for a boy, and what she is wearing doesn't seem to make any difference.

My DD was born with lots of hair and it was hanging in her eyes by the time she was 7 months old, so I popped her in the highchair with a box of raisins and got to work with the nail scissors! She had a pixie cut until she was about 12 months. She's 20 months now and has a chic little bob just under her ears.

I got some funny reactions too. We're in the southern US and children's clothes here are very gendered; everything pink and frilly for girls, camouflage for boys. Most baby girls wear those flouncy headbands, even if they're completely bald. So deliberately keeping DD's hair short and dressing her in her brother's hand-me-downs really confused people!

My baby (and a lot of others ) is as bald as a coot at 9months. Don't think it is wierd at all. Will probably grow back nicer anyway x

I want to grow my sons hair longish when he is older and if I have a girl want to give her a dawn porter style bob with fringe. Go figure (prob stems from having a cow lick and not being able to have a fringe myself) !
