...and see a pic if you can do it?!

Mine isn't my engagement or wedding rings, it's a piece of 'tat' my grandad (died before I was born), gave my grandma - I barely ever wear my engagement ring or wedding ring but always wear that! But if you have some bling to show I'd LOVE to see that too!!

Mine is my necklace; it has a silver "fingerprint" charm on it that I had done when ds was 3 months old and I've not taken it off since. I've also got a pendant on there that was my mums which is a gold sovereign with little diamonds. Would post a picture but the fingerprint one has ds's name and date of birth on so would out me!

Eat that is lovely. My grandma's ring came from Ratner's which she always said in hushed tones! I an including a picture in the hopes others will too. I am so glad you have that sister ring to represent your bond.

Horace and Juliet oh how lovely! No shade on anyone who doesn't want to post pics of unique jewellery! Just interested in the difference in how I feel about my 'meaningful' jewellery (my engagement and wedding rings are fairly standard), and what means the most to me emotionally. My GM's ring is fairly generic -totally understand not wanting to post names and birthdays!

Mine is an argos childs ring my grandparents gave me when I was 7, just a plain gold ring with a circle at the top with an engraved half moon. I am 30 now and still wear it all the time.

LalyRawr · 09/07/2014 20:15

Swarovski crystal pendant. Got it for my 20th I think, haven't taken it off once nearly 7 years later. Even when I was in hospital and the nurse said they wouldn't do the surgery unless I removed it. I told her to discharge me then...funnily enough they did the surgery.

Mine is a silver ring with two large balls on it. I bought it in a side of the road market in Mexico on holiday at a time of my life when I was both incredibly vulnerable but also free and happy. I would be devastated to lose it.

Mine is a bracelet made for me after my grandad died.

He used to save all his change and then bank it a couple of times a year. He had a big bottle of old sixpences and he said he would make them into bracelets for his granddaughters. Of course, like most ideas, he never got around to it.

After he died my uncle took them a silversmith and had 7 bracelets and 2 pairs of cufflinks made for me and my cousins. We had a special party were our parents presented them to us, we had no idea! It was so special and moving :)

I treasure it and wore it on my wedding day (almost a year to the day after he died) which made my uncle cry! There are seven sixpences in it, so I am planning (ha! channelling grandad!) to have them split and made into a necklace for each of the girls and asking my uncle for another sixpence (the bottle is still half full!) so I can get cufflinks made for the 2 boys :)

Laly it's beautiful and what a beautiful story. I was rushed in for emergency surgery once and they were about to cut my bra off(!) until I told them it had cost 40 quid and I'd rather not have the op. Not quite the same as you but similarly they found a way to save the bra and do the surgery! What a beautiful necklace.

Eat then it is the SIBLING bond, which is even better Wink

name that's beautiful. I have a friend who bought a ring in the UAE so she could 'pass' as married and it's still her most treasured piece of jewellery even though she's back in the UK and actually married now. It represents a really meaningful time in her life. Sounds like yours might too.

Totally plain thin gold band, cheapest in the shop Grin

I have a white gold necklace with a single solitaire diamond pendant.

My mum gave it to me on her second wedding day-(my parents are divorced and re married to different people).
The diamond was out of the engagement ring my dad gave my mum.
My sister has a sapphire version, which was her eternity ring.
Neither of us have taken them off.

windchime · 09/07/2014 20:45

My Tiffany ring. DH made a treasure trail for me to find it. It was a grand romantic gesture, so unlike him.

SistersOfPercy · 09/07/2014 20:55

I have a thing about Woolly Mammoths. I am utterly obsessed with them and have bones on the dining room shelf (I realise this is odd).

My favourite piece is a small round silver encased necklace with Mammoth Ivory in one side and an ammonite set in jet in the other that DH bought me a few years ago. It's not wildly expensive but it means the world to me to have a little piece of a mammoth. Grin
