Why do people say this??

I change my name so much, many of my threads probably seem like "first threads" but they're not! I've been on here ages and I just hate the idea of people rifling through my past posts and using it against me in a current topic but it seems having no past posts is equally vilified?!

bugslife no - so long as the 'real you' isn't deliberately goady! If your posts are consistent, and don't you seem to be playing 'MN bingo' and hitting every possible topic that causes ructions on here, then i doubt you'll be accused of trolling.

Batmansbuttocks · 09/07/2014 13:54

I've never said it but when you've been here 10 years + it's really hard not to be cynical about the majority of posts.

lalala2 · 09/07/2014 13:55

Really?? But how does it come out that a thread was in fact a troll thread?

OP posts:

Because it will be deleted and MNHQ will say it was deleted because it was a troll.

Maybe there could be a troll hunting challenge where if you spot 90% of trolls in a specific time period you will be awarded a troll hunting licence. Grin

I don't see the need for constant name-changing, except in the case of a personal medical matter or where you think someone in RL might recognise you.
If you say what you honestly think and don't make up stuff, you should be able to stand by what you have said previously.
I can understand why someone who uses a different name for new threads comes under suspicion.

I've changed name twice within about 18 months or so because after several months under each guise I've realised that I've given away far too much personal information that could make me and/or my loved ones identifiable. Nothing more sinister than that, nothing made up.

there is no way out for me now on the mental health bit read that one, I commented because I thought it was very ott but then felt guilty so wrote something nice :/
