I hate talking to the voice recognition machine, repeating everything twice, giving all my personal details to it, taking 4 minutes, only to be told they are too busy and I should call back later, then it hangs up on me. AAARRRGGGHHHH

Also having to listen to a load of recorded information about how I can renew on line, I DON'T WANT TO RENEW, I WANT TO TALK TO A PERSON.

Is that the envelope it arrives in then? Brown - post or phone, White - online?

If you are making a renewal online what does the colour of envelope matter?

Confused

I was on hold the other day for 20 mins, spoke for two. All I wanted to do.was request a freaking claim form. I didn't want to change anything, I am only just eligible for them again. Why on earth can't you request the bloody form online? Such a ridiculous system.

Kewcumber · 16/07/2014 20:01

*Your renewal type
What is the form code on the bottom left of your declaration?

An image showing the location of the form number

I received a TC 603 R and TC 603 D - white envelope
I received a TC 603 R and TC 603 D2 - white envelope
I received a TC 603 R - brown envelope*

Problem was I received a TC 603 R and TC 603 D with a white envelope Confused - there was no box to tick for that combination so I assumed I couldn't renew online.

maybe they ran out of white envelopes? Confused Who knew the colour of an envelope would make a difference

thisvelvetglove · 16/07/2014 22:21

DH used to work for them and got moaned at for his call times being too long. This was because he actually tried to help people and fix his colleagues mistakes instead of fobbing them of or hanging up.

They cut back the hours/days of work quite a lot just as he was leaving. So that might explain the longer queue tiMrs.

I renewed by text last week, I had no idea it was even possible until I tried ringing and read it after going online!

The staff have a staggeringly high rate of calls and a defined amount of time to answer them in. They also don't personally decide how much money you deserve by nature and cannot help you with your feelings about immigration, the failure of England to win the World Cup, asylum seekers or how this is Babylon, innit. I'm sure you wouldn't personally pester them with those but plenty do, which is part of the reason you're delayed.

This is an error: I posted on here earlier looking for help as the help line doesnt "help"

Delays can be frustrating but never take people's advice on an Internet forum because you're upset. This way very bad things occur.
