But I couldn't help myself after seeing it mentioned on MN....I had a gut feeling before I started that it might not end well, but curiosity got the better of me and now I'm feeling sick...and wish I could have some brain bleach.

I hope no one else goes googling it after reading this. If you do, don't come back on this fred and blame me or anything ok?!

Oo I definitely have the phobia. Can't eat carrots with little holes in, or naval oranges. Googled it and now have weak knees!

I hope that wasn't my thread that made you google Blush

That Fb photo made me gag, I never even knew it was a thing until I read about it on MN last year.

Someone then posted this week with a picture of the lotus flower saying that's what the picture was really, still made me gag!

coralgrimes · 30/06/2014 21:49

I've felt physically sick for days...can't get it out of my head. DP thinks I'm mad

StrawberryMoose · 30/06/2014 21:53

I googled it a week ago as it's the first time I have heard the name and was interested in the description as I've had this phobia for ever.

I spent about a hour afterwards curled up on the sofa incapacitated by revulsion!

I'm only now getting over all the images that popped up and sometimes when I close my eyes they are there, imprinted on my brain. Confused

StrawberryMoose · 30/06/2014 21:55

There is absolutely no way in hell that I'm letting myself google that toad, even though the sadist in me wants to.
I just know it will be bad.

fluffyraggies · 30/06/2014 21:55

I came across that photo a couple of years ago i think. It was panned out though and the woman is topless on a boat.

It did my head in back then as i wasn't sure if it was photo shopped or not. Kept me awake for a bit. Now i know it is it's easier to bare. Still horrible though.

StrawberryMoose · 30/06/2014 22:05

Don't read on if even descriptions freak you out..

I once cooked some tube pasta, the ends weren't pointy like penne, just flat.

I accidentally let the pan boil dry so that when I returned to it all I could see was a hideous network of holes- all the pasta tubes were standing up on end, quivering in the steam and clustered together in a perfectly uniform shape taking up the entire pan.

I threw the whole lot away. It was fusilli all the way after that.

PlateSpinningAtAllTimes · 30/06/2014 22:09

This is the third thread I've seen on here about this in a few days. People are obviously really affected by it. I had a similar experience to several PPs- couldn't sleep, felt the need for brain bleach, kept getting flashbacks. I've been morbidly obsessed with trypophobia since seeing the breast image! Whenever I think about it or see something like a lotus pod image I get this sensation of my skin crawling. Kind of itchy/shivery.

ShoopShoop · 30/06/2014 22:14

I'm so glad it's not just me. That boob thing has bothered me so much since I saw the picture on FB last week. Thinking about it makes me feel faint.

I had no idea the hole thing was a "thing" until then....and no idea that I was affected by said thing either.

I honestly can't get it out of my head. I've had to hide the posts on FB but am really scared I'll accidentally look at one again. I know it's not real but still.

I'm having to type this with my head practically between my knees for fear of fainting.

ShakyTheStork · 30/06/2014 22:14

squid that photo keeps coming up on my FB feed because of people sharing it to watch it. Apparently it is a virus so if anyone sees it on their FB, leave it the fuck alone. It is giving me the boak.

Plomino · 30/06/2014 23:06

Me too . Some fuckwit put it on my FB and it's actually made me feel really quite ill . I'm actually fucking furious he did it tbh . No warning , nothing , and now I keep getting flashbacks of it in my head . Totally , totally fucked up my sleep last night . Just what I needed when getting up at 4am . Prick.

buddles · 01/07/2014 00:07

Ok , google image searched it, really not that bad. Can't tell what photos are real or which are fake. The only ones that freak me out are tooth ones .

Montybojangles · 01/07/2014 05:23

Nope, I clearly don't have this phobia.
Perhaps it's being a nurse. I've seen some bloody weird/big holes in people in all sorts of places/states (with and without maggots...)

carlywurly · 03/07/2014 09:19

I thought i was ok with this. Then that shampoo one flashed up on my FB feed this morning and I've felt sick to my stomach ever since. It's a truly bizarre, visceral reaction.
Grim.
