to move the cat?

My lovely ten-year old moggy is lying on my bed very comfortably for him between my feet. I can't move without being subject to a death stare and maybe some feline violence.

Should I just suck it up and sleep funny or shall I brave the wrath it could incur?

Completely unreasonable. Unless you're getting up to fetch him corned beef/liver pate/naice ham (all those things work here anyway)

DapSlash · 28/06/2014 22:44

It's really tough being a cat. I think you need to be a bit more sympathetic tbh.

Pipbin · 28/06/2014 22:45

Is there anyone else in the house? Can you text them and get them to bring you an empty box?

mindthegap79 · 28/06/2014 22:46

Don't risk it OP. I moved (nudged gently onto an equally comfortable section of duvet, or so I thought) my cat this morning. I returned from the shower to muddy paw prints all over my clean on yesterday sheets.

As she was warm and dry when I left the room, I can only assume that she intentionally nipped out tp deliberately muddy herself, so as to issue a chilling warning.

Do. Not. Move. The. Cat.

HowsTheSerenity · 28/06/2014 22:47

You are seriously asking this? Moving the cat is tantamount to abuse. How dare you.

MoJangled · 28/06/2014 22:48

I giggled at these (holding tablet uncomfortably aloft away from cat-infested lap) and got the irritated back fur quiver. DH, lying on sofa next to me with other cat on chest tried to look round to see what I was doing and is now being kneaded back into the right shape. You know you can't move. Shame on you for thinking of it.

ScarlettOHorror · 28/06/2014 22:48

I am in bed with three cats taking up all the space.
I will move them. Soon.

Lookrightnow · 28/06/2014 22:50

What everyone else said. YABU.

Move house.

DizzyKipper · 28/06/2014 22:52

My jrt does this it does not matter what I do he will. Not. Move. I have to sleep with him between my legs and if I fidget he grumbles (not growls -more of a woe is me type groan)

Well he's not a cat so feel free to physically remove him Wink

Tigerinthegrass · 28/06/2014 22:52

Sleep funny x

DapSlash · 28/06/2014 22:53

I've put off going to the loo for over an hour because I haven't wanted to move the cat.

RiverTam · 28/06/2014 22:53

kick her off. I can't bear the cats being on the bed when I'm in it. They sleep on DH who is makes like a corpse.

Rhubarbgarden · 28/06/2014 23:01

You can't move the cat.

I want to go to bed but I can't get up from the sofa because Rhubarbcat is purring on my lap. I may be here all night.

But I don't mind, I'm just happy she's here and hope the £12K in recent vets bills mean that she'll be stopping me going to bed for many evenings to come.

Lookrightnow · 28/06/2014 23:04

12k???

Shock

Dear god I hope you we're insured?

Rhubarbgarden · 28/06/2014 23:13

Nope. Dh decided the insurance was a waste of money a year ago and cancelled it.

Pipbin · 28/06/2014 23:17

£12k. Bloody hell. I hope you made him pay for it.

Rhubarbgarden · 28/06/2014 23:19

In many ways, in many ways.

indigo18 · 28/06/2014 23:22

Do you live near me? I can bring round some exercise books to be marked, and a red pen. My cat can't resist a good exercise book. Even better if there is a red pen-top to play with.

Mrsdavidcaruso · 28/06/2014 23:42

I have no problem with my 3 cats its the bloody pug that gives me problems, he likes to sleep on my pillow with his face against mine and he SNORES

HowsTheSerenity · 28/06/2014 23:52

David - I feel your pain. Two cats (both on top of me), two snoring pugs and a snoring DH. I'm not even sure how the pugs get in the bed!

MrsSchadenfreude · 28/06/2014 23:57

I moved my cat from my feet. She looked outraged, lifted her little furry bottom, and pissed on it. Lavishly. Giving me a Paddington Hard Stare as she did it.

EleanorAbernathy · 29/06/2014 00:26

I hope you haven't moved the cat!

DP and I believe that having a cat asleep on you should be a perfectly valid reason to not go to work.

"Sorry boss, I can't come in today - I've got a cat."

AbbeyBartlet · 29/06/2014 02:59

I can't believe you would be so entitled OP!

I'm sure your poor cat won't mind you staying in bed (after all, he is comfortable!) but you need to keep very still so that he can get his full quota of sleep. Grin

StUmbrageinSkelt · 29/06/2014 06:03

Unbrage Cat has taken to sleeping on the heated toilet seat. It's a bit fraught.

Mrsdavidcaruso · 29/06/2014 07:07

Hows mine sort of scrambles onto the blanket box and then on to the bed but I suspect half the time my DH lifts him onto the bed when I am not looking.
