To wonder what Radio 4 Drama writers are smoking?

There have been some really kooky ones lately. The 'dancing contagion' one this morning was utterly bizarre. I didn't hear the end because I had to dry my hair. What happened in the end? Did everyone dance themselves to death?

Radio 4 has always done really weird drama. I kind of love the fact they do it even if I don't like the actual drama. I remember the one about the woman who ended up living in the walls of some guys house. He drilled holes in the walls so they could do the business. Most bizarre :o

Some of the comedy is dreadful though, but just enough is great that I forgive them.

Yesterday's was totally whacko. And the one earlier in the week about the blood thieves...or was that the same one? They are all blending together Confused.

I remember the German student/transgender teen one...that was a while ago and it was really good.

God yes. Old Harry's Game was fantastic, especially right at the start.

There was another afternoon drama about greyhounds the other day - really emotional, about racing and cheating.

Yes! The woman living in the walls was fantastic ally insane

Ed Reardon's Week is one of my favourite things too. And I also love Fags Mags And Bags. There was a rather good Bloomsbury parody a while ago, Gloomsbury was it called? Agree that much of the evening fare is lame.

Did anyone hear that really dark one with Ross Kemp playing a psychopathic gangster? That wasn't the usual crap but I had to switch off because it was too much (certainly in the early afternoon!).

But, generally, R4 dramas are really bad pretty much sums it up. Today's was lame-o.

"lately it's been all sci-fi, apocalyptic, dystopian weirdness and really bad American accents. "

I like that. Blush

But otherwise agree that the comedy is dire, and generally the dramas can be hit or miss (with some gems, however).

I really enjoyed "is" that was on recently and the dancing contagion today- found them both thought provoking and enjoyable

I'm turning into my parents, we timed our journey back from a weekend away so we could catch the second half of Do Androids dream of Electric Sheep

The comedy is not dire! News quiz, sorry ihac, cabin pressure, Tom Wigglesworth, Mark Steel lectures, Clare in the community, start stop, Stephen K Amos, Davis sidairs, week at the top, Tina C, bleak expectations, ed rear dons week, I could stay here all night hut 33, Miranda Harts joke shop, all radio 4 now repeated on 4x

At the moment a Charles Paris mystery has started, I love them.

The drama can be well a bit shit sometimes and I missed this one, but I suppose it was based on the dancing sickness in the Middle Ages ? And they too did just stop.

As you can guess I listen to a lot of radio, not really a telly fan, but to discount the entire content just because you don't like a couple of dramas... I hate Count Arthur Strong, my DH and Dts 9 love him, horses for courses.

Although I do wish they would sort out the categories better on iplayer better,
