To not want to see half-naked men constantly?

As in going about my day to day business, men who strut about happily without a t shirt or shirt on?

I find it so crude.

Is it as bad where you live? Put some clothes on Grin

I can remember being horrified as a child when male friends/ neighbours of my parents were shirtless at BBQs or garden parties.
So in your face Grin

TheRealAmandaClarke · 23/06/2014 19:14

No,of course, men don't judge women by their appearance or the way they dress Hmm

BillStickersIsInnocent · 23/06/2014 19:14

I saw a nice sign outside a pub recently saying:

Dress for the body you have not the body you want

It was a friendly sign and quite funny I thought.

I don't really mind, but hairy backs make me feel all strange.

LiberalLibertines · 23/06/2014 19:15

I'm staggered anyone gives a fuck

LEMmingaround · 23/06/2014 19:16

I can't stand it either - I don't want to see it thankyou very much. On the beach fine but nowhere else please.

LEMmingaround · 23/06/2014 19:19

Its the young lads that strut around like some sort of stag with their pigeon chests that give me the itch the most. Really guys -its not attractive.

MrsWinnibago · 23/06/2014 19:23

Liberal really? You're "staggered" that some people don't want to see everyone's flesh? Bit of an overreaction.

lettertoherms · 23/06/2014 19:25

I think generally we should get over the hang ups about bodies. I would also love if women's breasts weren't hypersexualized to the point of being considered something that needs covering, it should be fine for a woman to go topless wherever a man could, and I don't think a topless man is anything to get upset over.

But there's a line. Walking around on a sunny day, fine. Sitting in a doctor's office or shopping for groceries - have a shirt on.

windchime · 23/06/2014 19:27

I don't even notice but I am a nurse and naked strangers come with the territory.

sunlightinthegarden · 23/06/2014 19:27

You can be comfortable in warm weather without stripping off!

OP posts:
LEMmingaround · 23/06/2014 19:28

Quite happy to see bare breasts (both sexes) on the beach just not in the street.

MiniTheMinx · 23/06/2014 19:28

Don't much care because I don't tend to look.

sunlightinthegarden · 23/06/2014 19:30

Those of us who don't like it aren't staring at them.

"You don't have to look" isn't true. It is true one doesn't have to STARE, but you can hardly help seeing things!

OP posts:
Billygoats · 23/06/2014 19:41

It's a body! How is a body offensive? So the body may be large or hairy, some people get offended easily.

So YABU in my opinion.

fluffyraggies · 23/06/2014 19:44

Flesh out and about seriously doesn't bother me. The only times i would feel badly about it would be at a wedding, christening or a funeral. When there are certain dress codes to be adhered to and nudity isn't one of them.

I don't find unfit or old uncovered mens' bodies any more offensive than when they are covered up. If they are unfit i'm unlikely to look at them at all and if they are fit i might do a little double take and it brightens up a nanosecond :)

That's about it really.

IWillOnlyEatBeans · 23/06/2014 19:46

YANBU.

For me, it's quite specifically the arm pit hair that I find a bit horrifying.

MiniTheMinx · 23/06/2014 19:48

Perhaps I walk around with my eyes closed Confused but I haven't seen any half naked men walking about.

The only time it would bother me I guess is those occasions when there is a dress code.

ikeaismylocal · 23/06/2014 19:50

There are plenty of things that I see all the time which I think are ugly or not attractive but it doesn't offend me, I don't think the world should be airbrushed for my benifit.

sunlightinthegarden · 23/06/2014 19:50

Mini, I was in a naice area on Saturday, and true enough there were no topless men Grin

OP posts:
Banderwassnatched · 23/06/2014 20:03

Isn't it nice that every summer we get to shame people about their bodies?

CheapBread · 23/06/2014 20:08

The only men I see here walking around with their tops off are the ones wearing marl grey track suit bottoms, a neck tattoo and carrying a can of Monster energy drink/Fosters depending on time of day.

DoJo · 23/06/2014 20:09

The only time it bothered me was in my callow youth when I used to go to a lot of heavy metal gigs and hated being squashed up against some sweaty topless man in the mosh pit. The fact that they usually had long sweaty hair sticking to them and everyone else around them didn't help either.

sunlightinthegarden · 23/06/2014 20:09

Same here, Cheapbread Wink

But there are a LOT of men fitting this description!

OP posts:
Sallyingforth · 23/06/2014 20:13

Clothing should be appropriate to the place, not to the sex or age of the wearer.

MiniTheMinx · 23/06/2014 20:16

Actually I'm now really jealous, I might like seeing half naked men with tatts...mmm not sure what monster drink is though!
