To ask how to dispute an Ebay case

I sold a pair of shoes on Ebay and quoted the UK and Eur sizes.

They didn't fit the buyer and, despite the fact that they confirmed the label said what I'd quoted they opened a dispute.

I refused to issue a refund but they didn't do anything else so I escalated the case in order to get my funds released.

It said it would take up to 48 hours to resolve but within 10 minutes I got a reply saying they'd reviewed the notes and closed the case in the buyers favour!

Is there anything I can do?

Is it just the case that the buyer is always right?

If so, I think Ebay should be boycotted before all buyers cotton onto this total scam and make up cases about items they've bought in order to get a refund and keep the items.

I wish I'd just given them to charity.

What?!

Tell her she can have a refund when she's posted the shoes back! Cheeky sod.

Ebay are so weighted towards the buyer now that it makes me nervous selling stuff on there any more.

Have they returned the shoes?

CoolCat2014 · 23/06/2014 10:42

Yes ebay are weighted towards the buyer . You can offer a refund if she returns them or just wait and see what happens with the case.

I had a case raised against me a couple months ago because I sent the wrong item (fair enough... They looked very similar and I had a blonde moment). I sent out the correct item straight away, and had to wait over a month for the buyer to return the original, but with very little I could do about it and no response from them. I had to threaten to escalate it before they did anything.

I did offer to refund if the buyer returned the shoes at their expense as there was nothing wrong with them.

They case is closed and I don't have any options to do anything about it.

Sounds like eBay have given a non fault refund. You keep the money, the refund comes out of eBays pocket. It's not uncommon for lower value items.

I had this recently. EBay paid for the refund and said I wasn't at fault. Buyer still left me my first ever negative feedback though Hmm

Ok- so I've actually read the email properly Blush and that is what's happened.

The buyer has been refunded but I haven't had the funds taken from me- WTF?

No wonder Ebay fees are so high if they are used to subsidise this- it's insane.
