I don't know why this is bothering me so much but it is! I want to organise my photos but it seems like such a large daunting task as I've taken 1000s over the past few years.

In the new age of digital pics, I'm wondering what the best approach is to store and display photos?

2000 photos on Flickr - stored in albums
Several.photos framed - whole family/wedding
Album for each of the dc from day of birth

I'm another one who every few years has a big session, gets the good ones printed out and makes up an album or two.

Then, in the distant future when the discs/memory sticks of today are unreadable, we'll still have our pix. With a few missing, because DCs are forever pinching 'one' for some project or the other.

Ditched most of them, kept only the really good, and important ones. That to me makes them more valuable. Everybody is so snap happy these days none of the photos really matter but I keep it small in quantity so I keep the best ones

For keeping photos secured there are various ways for it. You can make collage posters or you can maintain a photo album of favourite photographs. I have made a photo album from the specialist at printsocialpictures.com/,it contains all my favourite photos. There is an advancement in digital technology, you can print photographs in various ways like adding effects to it. And one can choose their favourite frames for it.

Threadmarking

PS is there a way to do this on mobile without posting, peeps?

Mandatorymongoose · 09/04/2015 14:16

I have a couple of canvasses like Boooo about 200 pictures on each, they're great.

Also photobooks, groupon quite often has cheap offers on both.

Placemarking, sorry....need to do something with mine desperately!

I print them out and fill albums, put them on Facebook, they're organised on Flickr and also into folders on my laptop. DD's first birthday is tomorrow and OH and I have spent the last few evenings looking back at her first year, and I've used some of the photos and a lot of videos to make a big video for her of her first year :)

I'm going to start making photobooks. Is Cewe the best one to use?

I bought three good sized digital photo frames, then made a frame for them out of wood and painted it. So three in a row like a big multi-photo frame. I then had the electrician put a powerpoint behind, so you can't see the cords. It's up on the wall and I update the photos every month or so with any new ones. The frames are remote controlled, so I can switch on and off easily. It tends to stay on almost all the time when I'm at home.

I do "project life" which you can get from hobbycraft, and have an album for each year since the birth of my DD. This involves printing photos and placing them in albums alongside cards which you can write on and use to decorate the pages. Project life is a cross between old fashioned photo album and scrap booking and I love the end result. A real labour of love but worth it!

I also do yearly albums via snapfish for grandparents.
