To be annoyed with the school nurse

who told my teenage DD that it is not normal to have discharge every day, and that she probably has chlamydia or gonorrhoea. But then, on top of that, to take weeks to bring in the test despite being asked by DD every week, causing her to worry for much longer than necessary.

Why would she tell her that it is not normal to have discharge every day for a start, when the vagina is a continuously self cleaning orifice?

Thank you for all the advice, and opinions, even the one that thinks the OP is bullshit unlikely (guess that's AIBU for you, wish I'd name changed now).

Thinking about it, and with the info above, there are people in the medical bay all the time who I think are more like first aiders, and then the school nurse, who I think isn't in every day.

I've spoken to the nurse before, so I think I'll just give her a ring on Monday morning. Even if DDs description of her discharge and sexual activity gave cause for concern, it is the message that discharge every day is abnormal that I am baffled by. I will also mention the wait between her being told/suggested she should be tested and the test being provided, and see what her side of the story is. I'm wondering if she may just cite confidentiality and not be able to give me any details?

I didn't give DD's age in the OP as she's under-age and I thought that fact might derail the conversation.
