They have missed off a 0 from my details so its all incorrect and I am short around £80 a week!

It takes Ages to phone them too, at least 25 mins on hold

Thank you to everyone who suggested I call early Thanks

Only 4 minutes on hold, and the whole conversation took less than 5 minutes. Thank you again!

Ack, tax credits. In my last job we got a sales bonus paid at the end of April which meant I had to give them an estimate of what the bonus was going to be (we had no idea what it would be until it got paid into our bank accounts)
Every year I phoned & gave an estimate always gave an estimate of more than we expected to receive and 4 years after I stopped claiming - had got married & moved in with DH - I got hit with an overpayment bill of £1,100. I'm paying it off very grudgingly at £20 a month.

Ive never claimed tax credits. What a stupid fucking system I remember the publicity of the early fiascos on the news. It hasn't improved much going by this thread.

They have are a complete economical disaster, as well as being rather useless on a micro level!

Let's make everyone reliant on government top ups so the cost of living goes through the roof and wages don't increase to match making everything bloody pointless!
