I get this impression and have no idea why - is this my imagination or is this the case?

Where are you originally from?

I am thoroughly English.

NoGravyNoPie · 13/06/2014 21:45

Alice that wasn't a dig at you.

EddieStobbart · 13/06/2014 21:45

Loblollyboy, thanks - you've educated me.

I had thought it was a perfectly normal expression across the English speakers of the world. Having it pointed out by work woman I realised I'd never heard an English person say it so thought she was right and it was Scottish phrasing. Obviously not.

Aliceinvodkaland · 13/06/2014 21:45

Lucked · 13/06/2014 21:47

Yep me too.

I have to admit there are more of us than I thought, perhaps because of all the school chat about appeals and boarding schools I presumed hardly any scots.

I don't hate the English, I am married to one. I do find it hard to relate to true blue conservatives. You hardly find any up here.

Aliceinvodkaland · 13/06/2014 21:47
