To expect people to avoid the landline after 9.30pm

Personally, I wouldn't phone someone at home after 9.30pm, maybe I would text 'are you up, can I call quickly?' (if urgent). We get a 'regular' phoning after 10 and beyond. Pisses me off. Hmm

Who is calling you? Tell them?

CoffeeTea103 · 12/06/2014 22:37

If anyone calls that late I would think it's bad news. Yanbu.

goofygoober · 12/06/2014 22:37

Dropped a few hints, they still bloody do it!

Sunday 9am a new patient phoned to book an appt last Sunday. She is the first person in 10 years to call on a Sunday full stopl. She then called every 10-20 mins for the next few hours. I discovered phone with messages at lunchtime. Was out in morning. Patient American wonder if that makes a difference. I'm not life threatening medical profession! Very rude as its Sunday. Agree not to phone landline after 9pm

Tell them "look if you ring after 9pm someone best be dead or dying!" Normally shuts them up.

That was the rule in my mums growing up.

TyneTeas · 12/06/2014 22:49

9pm was the cutoff growing up in the 80s (with the exception of the 3 rings to confirm you are home protocol)

: )

EurotrashGirl · 13/06/2014 01:03

Just tell them not to call after after 9:30. They clearly aren't understanding your hints.
