Just been to a KFC and a bunch of teenage lads left huge piles of litter on their tables.
AIBU to think this is selfish and slovenly?
There are bins ffs, it would take all but two seconds to dump the rubbish in the bin on the way out.
Now someone else has to clean up after them, whether that be a customer or staff.

I'll add.... those people who leave all their popcorn, sweets and drinks wrappers in their seats or the holders at the cinema. Makes me cross.

EarSlaps · 11/06/2014 19:44

Yanbu. Even if there are no bins around I at least clear all the rubbish back onto the trays and give it a quick wipe around.

RedSoloCup · 11/06/2014 22:02

Disgusting, so entitled! I blame the parents....

Pipbin · 11/06/2014 22:45

I agree, but it is KFC innit.

YANBU. I've been out with people who tell me to leave it because it's someone else's job, and I just don't understand that attitude. Especially in a fast food place, where it takes 2 minutes to do.

I once saw someone open a car door, shovel KFC wrappers onto the pavement and gutter, close the door and drive away. Delightful.

Andrewofgg · 12/06/2014 05:33

I'm just waiting for anyone to disagree and see why!

They'd better don the flameproof undies first . . .

My step grandfather saw someone do this and so picked up all the rubbish and followed the car to the next traffic lights where he threw it in through their open window with a cheery "you dropped this!"

No, it technically isn't their job. They ask that you bus your own tray to save them time, therefore reducing cost. They were tight enough when I worked there ten years ago, I can't imagine how bad it is now. I was expected to serve four-hundred people on a Friday night on my own on the front counter. My boss also expected me to clear the tables whenever I got chance. £4.60 an hour, twelve hour shifts, non-stop.

People complained about the queues and the mess but I never got any more man power, any help. I left after a year as I'd simply had enough.

Chattymummyhere · 12/06/2014 09:58

My local one has cleaners who job it is to do that. They pretty much rush over the second you go to stack it all up to take it to the bin and take it off you.

In others if the bins are full I just stack it on the tray and leave, if I went to the bin it would just end up on the floor

I think some people do and somepeople dont and its no big deal.

I usually clear my table, but after paying to eat out, its not obligatory.

I think you are either the kind of person who clears up or not. I go to a little knitting group in the local library for which we pay nothing. A woman who has been, I think, three times, always comes with a drink and leaves the bottle on the table. Last time she brought with her a sandwich she had bought. She left the wrapper on the table but did come back later and bin it. I would have done it if she hadn't returned. I can't understand why she feels the need to eat during the session anyway - we are only there for an hour and although libraries are much more relaxed now it is still not particularly nice, I don't think (although a lady was breastfeeding in there last week - that was OK!! Grin. it certainly isn't for library staff to clear up after us.
